Wow. When I want to build my own cheese and charcuterie board, this is my go-to spot. Pro-tip: if you order a variety of items for your party, you don't actually need as much for your board as you think. 1 Lb = 16 oz, and I always order 2-4 oz of any particular item. Although when ordering olives, peppers, etc order a cup or 8 (fluid) oz containers. Pre-packaged nuts help round out the board. Slice up a baguette from a market bakery and you are good to go.

Occasion: Visiting my daughter and can't resist a European style market I really wanted to like this store. It was full of interesting products that looked very diverse and decently priced. So why only one star? I am a disabled person who has a service dog to help me. As soon as we walked in the door, the woman who owns the shop fought her way through the crowd to get to me and demanded to see my dog's registration papers to prove she was a service dog. Oh, boy... I politely explained to her that registration is not a thing for service dogs and shared with her the 2 legal questions that businesses are authorized to ask dog handlers, and volunteered my responses. She insisted that she knows better and that there is a registry for service dogs and she will need to see Piper's registration to allow us to remain in her store. She even went so far as to tell me she'll call the police and have them tell me there is a registry for service dogs. I let her know that's not necessary I'll find and correct the police if they're incorrectly stating ADA requirements. (this happens more often than you might imagine.) I confirmed with her the location of the police in WSM and went to find one. I did get her to accept my ADA card though, so that's progress. After the lady harassed me about Piper, I didn't have much of an appetite for her wares. We left feeling trampled on and violated. Note: I did seek out the officer. Not only did the officer understand ADA requirements, he offered to go with me to correct the woman. I told him that I would never patronize her store now so I'm not interested in accompanying him, but I appreciate his effort to prevent her from discriminating against the next dog handler that enters the premises. He chased me down in a crowded market later to tell me that he'd had a conversation with the woman and she now understands ADA law. Would I recommend? not if you're disabled Would I return? not on your life Service Dog Grade: F. Denied access and required police correction. I have never filed a complaint re: ADA before today:(

Although there a couple of choices for buying cheese at the Westside Market and they are all very good, the selection at Mediterranean Imported Foods is more extensive than anything else I've found in NEOH. As a closet cheese connoisseur, it quickly became apparent to me the people behind this counter know their product. They answered all my questions and had the hard to find cheese variations I like in stock. After learning my preference, Ed made a couple of other suggestions which provrd to be outstanding and will become part if my cheese repertoire. Just when I feared pride in your work, becoming a true craftsman and providing outstanding customer service with high quality products had become a lost art, Mediterranean Imports at the WSM has restored my faith. Highly recommend for unique cheeses.

My mother and I go to this store annually and we have always had a great experience. Unfortunately, I think Saturday was our last time visiting. My family and I were treated very poorly by an older woman who claimed to be the owner. I have never seen her in the store before over the MANY years we have been shopping there. She tried to kick me out of the store while I was shopping with my mother after she kicked out my siblings. I understand that the store is small which can be a problem with a large family. I understood that, if she would've left it at them having to stand outside the door none of the rest would've happened. Of course she couldn't let it be. She had to get in my face trying to kick me out when I was in fact buying things from her store. If she is the one running the place, I will not be back. I hope she was just there for the day because if not she will lose a lot of business with her sour attitude. When we were checking out, and my mother asked why the altercation happened, she told my mother that she had no patience. Well, as an owner, she should find some especially around Christmas time when families are down at the market shopping. It is such a shame, we have always loved shopping there and now we will be finding a new store to take our business too. I will say that the other employees behind the counter were very nice, and they even apologized for her behavior on her behalf.

The woman who claimed to be the owner of the store literally kicked a group of kids out because one dropped a strawberry and then began berating paying customers. horrible customer service from this woman. short hair grey hair and black glasses. it kept me from going in the store. which is a shame because it is a nice place. maybe just dont have that woman working the counter if she cant handle customer service. thanks.
