Took a bunch of my grandpas old clothes in because they reeked of cigs (RIP grandpa Kenny) and they came out smelling + looking brand new, and I wasn't repulsed by them anymore. Great service too. Highly recommend!

Trusted them with my wedding dress per a recommendation from a local vintage bridal shop. It was filthy and now it looks as good as new! So happy I took my dress to Kergaard!

I was referred to Kergaard by Miranda of Miranda's Vintage Bridal. I took two 70 year old baptismal gowns to be cleaned for my twin daughters baptism. The gowns are a family heirloom and had seen better days (stains, musty smell due to being in a cardboard box for the last few decades). The owner was so kind, considerate, and took great care to ensure that the gowns looked practically brand new! They were pressed and covered meticulously and are just beautiful. I am proud to own these gowns and will make sure to preserve them. Kergaard Cleaners is a must if you have vintage or delicate items, as the owner takes pride and attention to detail to ensure a beautiful, and clean item. Highly recommend!

June 13, 2015: I dropped off two 84" long curtain panels that I had purchased from Crate and Barrel on April 18, 2013 to Kergaard Cleaners in Lakewood. The curtains had never been cleaned and had some areas of water staining along the bottom (from our balcony flooding during a storm) and cat hair. The cleaning recommendations for the curtains were “dry-clean only.” The woman at the counter informed me that the curtains would be ready in one week. She gave me a dry cleaning slip, which I have included in my documentation. There is no disclaimer or waiver located anywhere on the slip.
June 20, 2015: Exactly one week later I returned to Kergaard Cleaners to pick up my curtains. The same woman informed me that my curtains were “not ready, too much hair, come back in a week.” This was fine as my boyfriend and I were starting to do some remodeling of our condo, and I wouldn’t be hanging them back up again for some time.
Date unclear, July 2014: My boyfriend went to Kergaard to pick up the curtains. He paid the $30 fee and returned home with them.
August 1, 2015: After the remodeling was completed, I finally had the chance to rehang the curtains that we had taken to Kergaard. They were still in their original dry cleaning bag and on the original hangers. I hung the curtains up and realized they had shrunk quite a bit. After measuring them, we realized that my 84" curtains were now 77" inches long. I immediately called the cleaners to let them know what happened and I got an answering machine. I left a message and asked them to return my call. They never did. The call was placed at 3:04pm (see screenshot for confirmation).
August 3, 2015: I took the curtains to the cleaners so that I could show them the damage and speak with them in person. The same woman was behind the counter and she informed me that the damage was not their problem and curtains shrink. From what I understand from an acquaintance who is in the dry-cleaning business, an inch or so is standard and will eventually stretch out as the fabric hangs. But in my mind, 7 inches is unacceptable and my property has been ruined. I showed the woman the listing on the Crate and Barrel website and told her that it was their responsibility to replace what they had ruined and that I had entrusted them with my property, assuming it would be returned to me undamaged. They have refused to refund me the cost of my damaged property. The total cost of the curtains is $179.90. They are currently for sale on the Crate and Barrel website and I feel it is their responsibility to replace the items that were damaged due to their negligence.
My opinion? Beware--if they ruin your property, don't expect them to take any responsibility or have any sort of positive customer service.
