I love West Side Market and Czuchraj meats! I only get to Cleveland maybe twice a year so I mostly order online. Always good to open that box. Slovenian and mild Polish boys are faves.

This place has the best smoked kielbasa ever. Too bad the guy behind the counter was flirting with two girls Monday and never put gloves on ? While he was waiting on me. I won’t be going there while he’s working again.

I recently stopped at the J & J Czuchraj Meats stand at the West Side Market. I purchased some beer brats, Chicago dogs, and Christmas Ale bacon. They were all amazing and I'm looking forward to stopping by again soon for more meat. The staff was helpful and helped me get my order and on my way. Great experience and recommend giving them a shot if you're down at the West Side Market and looking for some meat!

I have made the trip several times over the years to the West Side Market and always make time to stop at the J&J stall and pick up some bacon jerky. This year was different of course due to COVID but I heard that they had a mail service and I thought I would give it a try.I placed an order that was just over $200 with shipping and was pretty excited to get the package in the mail but was a bit disappointed in the end result.First I will say that the package did get to us within the 2-3 day shipping time but it did take a while to ship out from the time I made the order, but I don't mind waiting so it wasn't a big deal. The parts that weren't so good were the temperature of the product and the quality of the packaging. The product was about room temperature and only had a single small ice pack in it that was completely melted. I checked on their website and found this in the FAQ section: "Ice packs will melt by the time the product arrives and is normal. Our products are smoked (cooked) and travel nicely." Because of this I wasn't as worried about the temperature until I saw several packages were not vacuum sealed.Several packages had slices or holes in the bags causing the seals to be broken. Now, I know we're dealing with smoked meats, but we're also dealing with water, seasonings, sauces on them, etc. or in other words: moisture (cooked or otherwise). I was super bummed because I ordered three pounds of bacon jerky and two pounds of it came unsealed and sitting at room temperature. If the product came cold but unsealed OR sealed but warm I wouldn't worry as much, but since it was both unsealed AND warm at the same time I just threw it in the trash since I don't want to risk food poisoning. The strange part is that the box didn't have any visible punctures or other damage which leads me to believe the product went into the box with the seal already broken. All told my order had three packs of jerky, 1 pound of Apple Bourbon and two pounds of Bacon, that were unsealed and warm and so they ended up in the trash. I added it up and those three pounds of jerky amounted to $71.97, not accounting for shipping. This is a pretty inefficient way to waste money because I could have just thrown the cash in the trash myself, I really didn't need to convert it to jerky first. In the end I went with three stars because the jerky is good (expensive, but good) and I did get most of my order undamaged and supposedly safe, so that's better than nothing. On the other hand it is very frustrating to throw money away on a product that can't make it to you undamaged or at least in a way that I know it is safe. So, in the end I won't be using their mail-order service anymore as I see it as a waste of money. But, I'll still probably stop by their store at the West Side Market once in a while to get some bacon jerky.

In a world full of prepackaged, filler filled food this place is a absolute gem. Came for the jerkey, but also grabbed sum smokies, bacon, and kielbasa. Everything was very, very good. Will be going back again and again.

Best jerky hands down. A small delivery hiccup due to USPS delays was quickly and effectively taken care of by J&J. I would have this jerky shipped across the country...it's that good
