EDITED IN RESPONSE TO OWNER RESPONSE: “we would never charge for damages without first checking our records” but you did? That’s a blatant lie. You did in fact NOT check your records.

212 tenants beware. Lived here for about 3 years. Amenities were great but management seems to be disorganized. We were almost charged to replace our microwave by staff at the front desk, however when I checked to see the move-in inspection report on the online portal to see if I had marked it broken, the report they had uploaded was a blank and unsigned copy. It wasn’t until I noted this to the staff that my report was missing that they said they had a copy and that I actually DID note the broken microwave and told me I actually didn’t have to pay for it’s replacement. I find that extremely shady - you mean to say if I wasn’t as attentive and remembered the inspection, they would’ve just charged me without checking on THEIR end? Super messy work there. If you’re living in unit 212 be aware if they haven’t updated the unit for you - ac unit was broken for 30 days and we had maintenance logs for proof. We almost had to apply to the city to put our rent in escrow because they were failing to make repairs. Keep in mind this was summer and our temperature inside was reading at 80+ degrees. It wasn’t until we told them that we were considering putting our rent in escrow where they sent someone to fix it. Again, messy and unorganized work. Unprofessional too. Our entry way flooded once from the unit above and they never did anything about it as well.

The Renaissance is top-tier luxury living in the ever-growing urban core of downtown Cincinnati! The building is spotless, updated, and well-kept. Also, the whole team (from the leasing office to maintenance) is incredibly helpful and responsive. The neighbors all have pride in the community, and the amenities--from the in-unit furnishings, to the stunning rooftop views, and everything in-between--are second to none. I would recommend The Renaissance to anyone looking for the best, hassle-free, 'feels-like-home' experience any day of the week!

My wife and I have been here 6 months now and the experience has been everything we had hoped for. The team on site (Betsy, Alexis and Rob) are always available and responsive to any questions, work orders or general tenant needs and make it very easy to live here. The units are very spacious with high ceilings and the building amenities are well maintained and add value to the tenants overall experience. Highly recommend this building.

Our leasing agent, Alexis Wilson, gave us a tour today and she was great! One of the best tours I had recently. I give her literally a +3000 out of 10 score! Alexis was so thourough. She showed my friend and I how to use their website and was so informative when showing the available units. I did not feel rushed at all. She took the time at the end to even do a nice recap. She is so kind and sweet! If you are ever interested to live here, I recommend to ask for Alexis for a tour!

Horrible property manager. After 18 months of renting there, she just changed my parking slot and gave it to a new resident without my consent. No argument or logic helped. We also had issues moving out because no one can assist us with the elevator, and we ended up changing our move out date based on the availability of the staff. The place is old, and you will need to call maintenance frequently to address concerns with the AC, plumbing, dishwasher, etc. Our apartment was at the roofdeck and it dripped water in the bedroom during a strong rainstorm (they fixed it later). We rented a storage room at the first floor, and the pipes there were damaged so our stuff was drenched after another rainstorm (they fixed it later).

A few years ago I had a detestable interaction with an employee (Betsy Gerhardstein) at this property who threatened to call the police on me because she felt my brown body didn’t belong in that lily-white space. I’d been housesitting for a resident who was moving to LA, and when I exited the building Monday morning I realized I’d forgotten my necklace. I went right back in, introduced myself to Betsy and stayed I needed to pop upstairs to retrieve my property. What ensued was a two hour ordeal wherein Betsy refused to let me go back upstairs (I offered my ID numerous times) and then incited the maintenance man to throw me out of the housing after threatening me with the police. I had to call corporate, speak with a district manager, and only THEN did the actual property manager get involved, invited me back into the building and personally escorted me upstairs to retrieve my necklace. Betsy was a truly detestable character who behaved like a petty little gatekeeper from a bygone era, and I sincerely hope she’s still working there because she the skills she displayed in that interaction with me are proof that she’s likely best kept behind closed doors and out of the general population.

We have had a wonderful experience at the Renaissance. Our apartment is roomy and quiet, and the rooftop patio and the community lounge are spacious and comfortable. Maintenance requests are handled promptly, and the staff - Betsy, Alexis, and Rob - are always friendly and helpful! We also love the downtown location.

We live at the Renaissance Bldg. in downtown Cincinnati and we have to give 5 stars to Betsy in Management and Rob in Maintenance!! This past Sunday night at approximately 9:15 we noticed water seeping out of our water heater into our carpet at a pretty fast pace. We called Betsy through the emergency line and she in turn got through to Rob who was here within 20 minutes. We cannot say enough about their proactive reaction to our issue and happy to say it was resolved within a matter of hours and our carpet is being cleaned immediately. They saved us from further damage by being very quick to handle our issue. Would highly recommend someone who is looking to rent to look here!! Thank You Betsy and Rob!!!!

I moved into the Renaissance a year ago and have nothing but positive things to say. Management and maintenance are very responsive and have been extremely helpful since day 1. I would strongly recommend living at the renaissance to anyone looking to live in downtown Cincinnati!
