I worked in the Orangeburg plant. It was very unorganized the building is old rundown no heating, air conditioning the machines are ancient. The machinist’s are very talented and knowledgeable to be able to make the valve body’s on the machines they run. The factories in China are nice clean up to date technology a lot of money was invested there. Most valves are produced in China not America. They use prints from the 1920’s nothing about this company was appealing to stay.

If I could give this company negative stars, I would. My first contact was via a phone call and the woman was exceptionally pleasant. I suggested that we continue our dialogue via email as our time difference is quite substantial. Here we are, 1 1/2 months later and ONE return email. I have attempted to call numerous times to no avail. I have even gone slightly up the corporate ladder, and no return phone call from anyone. Evidently, customer service is not one of their stronger points.

I have been trying for app. 2 weeks to get information from Brenda Havens in HR about whether or not I have a pension with Wm. Powell Valve Co. I worked there from Nov. 1977 thru Aug.1984. If there is anyone out there that sees this message and can direct me to where to call or look on Internet, please let me know.
