A very snobby store only for people that live in Hyde Park. Even the name of the store is douchey. As is sometimes typical in these kinds of stores, it was readily apparent I was being looked down upon when the salesperson engaged in small talk with me. When I told him I lived in an outlying suburb, he acted as if I lived in another country. I’m surprised he didn’t ask what hotel I was staying at. Six figure income here; I’ll spend my money somewhere else.

The sales person that has been here the two times I was here is obnoxiously overbearing and will not let you look. He took the liberty of finding my sizes in things I hadn't had a chance to look at and things I might not want and then acted annoyed when I went to look in those areas later, explaining he already check it for sizes. The salesperson also had the audacity to tell me put something back in the right place. Seriously!

My go-to local store for work & event wear. They treat you like family and have fabulous brands that are amazing quality. Thank you, Khakis for being such a staple in the square.

Nice selection of upscale preppy men's sportswear with brands such as Peter Millar, Southern Tides, and Martin Dingman shoes and rude, snobby workers/owners/management.

Nice selection of upscale preppy men's sportswear with brands such as Peter Millar, Southern Tides, and Martin Dingman shoes and rude, snobby workers/owners/management.The problem though with this store, which is a problem with many independent men's shops and why I tend to avoid them, is the salesperson was obnoxiously overbearing and wouldn't allow me to look. He took the liberty of finding my sizes in things I hadn't had a chance to look at and things I might not want and then acted annoyed when I went to look in those areas later, explaining he already check it for sizes. I could have very well been looking for something other than for me for all he knows. The salesperson/owner also had the audacity to tell me put something back in the right place. Seriously! That pretty much tipped the bucket for me.Not the best way to treat a potential customer!About a year after I left this review, I went back with my partner since he had never been there. Same obnoxious owner/manager/salesperson was there. I blew him off, flipped through his stacks of merchandise, and bought nothing. Saleperson tried to coax me into buying an ugly pair of shoes saying they were like the ones I was wearing, which they weren't. Salesperson tries to talk to my partner and asked where we lived, which I pointed out later to my partner he pondered on with judgement. We live in a suburb, but you would have thought from the way the salesperson talked that we lived in another country. I also told my partner that we were probably frowned upon because he only bought clearance merchandise.Afterwards, we went to 45/46, where I made a purchase.Gets a "two" only because I liked the merchandise. Probably will never by anything from there because I was clearly looked down upon. I'm not catering to a place that treats me like that. I suppose they have enough business from the customers they want to where they don't need mine. They can shove it!

Cute Shop for the Aging Prepster. Saw some fun pants my husband might like for an upcoming theme party. Saleswoman would not let me touch them to feel the quality or see the price tag. Instead, she condescendingly asked, " May I wrap these up for you?" I told her "No" and she discarded me like fish & chip paper. Rude! Your loss. I had a wad of Ben Franklins in my purse that day.

disappointed that I was not included on the email list for black Friday sales - had to spend all my money at vineyard vine online. Typically I would rate them 5 stars for service but not today, will try them again after the holidays.

I finally found a Father's Day present, thanks to Khakis in Hyde Park. I had never really ventured down Edwards to the left so I made the turn and headed down the other day. We saw a sign for "Nicole Miller" in the window at Khakis so we had to stop in, Nicole Miller's designs are always adorable even if they are out of our price range. Before we could even make it to the women's room in the store, however, we were greeted by a nice salesman that reminded me of my grandpa who reminded us Father's Day was coming up. He immediately started asking questions about our dad to determine what he might like for the holiday. We described our dad and before we knew it we had a pair of nice linen khaki shorts and a plethora of shirts to choose from. Brands I saw were Burberry and Legends. The shorts themselves were on sale for $75 so I was happy with that price but couldn't afford to get a shirt too. After settling on just the shorts we went to look in the women's section while the salesman gift wrapped my purchase. My sister found a gorgeous Nicole Miller black dress in a petite (she was thrilled) and wanted to try it on. Unfortunately, the complicated wrap dress refused to be wearable...we even called the sales lady back and she couldn't figure it out! I guess it just wasn't meant to be.
