I’ll try to make it short. Had a crank no start situation, called Elwood auto and he got me in within the following week. After taking 4 days to diagnose a bad fuel pump he told me he’d replace it for $500, even tho I had already checked the fuel pressure and the fuel pump sound when you turn the key over and it seemed to be working but I figure hey he’s the “professional” so I guess he knows something I don’t. So Then took another 3 days to fix it. Now I understand why the price was so great. I was back on the road for not even 3 weeks before I ran into the SAME problem. Crank no start. I call Rick tell him and he tells me to bring it back. So I get it towed to that shop AGAIN and he proceeds to take 5 more days(with me calling every other day for an update and him giving me the run around) before finally telling me he got it back running again. Long story short- lasted bout another month then BOOM guess what? Crank no start AND now my battery dies overnight and it was not doing that before I took it to that bogus shop. The other guy that works with him just stares at you. And to top it off HE LEFT MY DOORS UNLOCKED EVERY TIME AFTER I ASKED HIM NOT TO. I recently had my shift cable replaced by a different mechanic who overcharged me. In my pursuit of obtaining a refund by seeking written estimates from other local mechanics, I stumbled across Elmwood Car Services. Their written estimate came in 25% less than several other nearby competitors. When I asked how this was possible the owner (an older gentleman) said, "I made my money. I just like to work now".Although I haven't personally used them for repairs, the next time I have an automotive issue, Elmwood Car Services will be my first call.
