Plan on investing time if doing a straight sale of your automobile with Carmax. Their “process” is based on making you waiting so long for their offer that you give up hope of ever leaving the building. After accepting their cut rated offer (40%), we are told to go wait again (not sure why we need to wait) because that’s the “process”. My time is valuable (just as valuable as Carmax), so when I’m told a process is quick and it takes more than an hour, then that is not quick - my expectation of quick for a transaction like this using online forms is 20 mins total,

My husband and I had the absolute best experience with CarMax! We went in store to sell our 2013 Dodge Durango and walked out of there less than an hour later. After accepting our offer, Sophie and Kayla, worked together to help us get everything signed and paperwork processed. The two of them were informative and we really appreciated the step by step explanation of how things would work. It was such an easy process and stress free from start to finish. The online resources with the potential offer and page with what to bring were also helpful before arrival. The two of us look forward to any future visits. Thank you, CarMax!

The way car buying should be… the price in the tag is the price. No hassles or pressure. Dan greeted me and my gf politely and enthusiastically with useful info on how to browse their lot. We test drove and loved the car and needed up purchasing on the spot. Dan walked us through each step guiding us to make choices best for her (it’s my gf car) situation. Very straight forward and streamlined which made it by far the test car shopping experience ever!! I noticed that there were similar cars seeking for cheaper prices, but I was happy to pay the extra for the convenience and hassle free experience. Not once did we feel like he was trying to sell us on anything we didn’t want or need. I would def buy from them (Dan) again and recommend anyone who wants a no hassle positive buying experience to give them (Dan) a chance to earn your business.
***attn management: give this dude a raise and make him a trainer for future (or current) employees.

Over all it was a very easy Process we purchased a vehicle with the help Greg Culross wouldn’t use him if it can be avoided. Originally purchased Kia Sedona after driving for a few days found a Honda Odyssey we liked better. So with the Carmax Guarantee we was able to switch it out with no real issues. With the Honda we wanted the extended warranty just like we did with the Kia but somehow it was never added even though we talked about it and even a screenshot shows it was included with the overall price. Well one oil change later a check engine light comes on so when I go to schedule maintenance they say I don’t have the warranty. All Greg had to say was” I don’t remember the conversation we had “ to save his own butt of course so now I must pay. More out of pocket because if there mistake I know what you are thinking I sign the paperwork but to my negligence he said it was on there.

This was my second time purchasing with Carmax. Great customer service! The manager was able to help make my car trade and purchase smooth. All staff were friendly and helpful! And George was the team member who helped me through everything. He was awesome! Whatever you are paying him, Carmax, I know it’s not enough! He was efficient, knowledgeable, and tried to keep things moving as quickly as possible through the trade and purchase process. He even posed for a pic of my old car I traded in. Thanks, George and Carmax for another wonderful experience!
