Where do I even start? Leaving a one star review for a church?! I know… but hear me out. After being a student there, and member of the Parrish, I was shocked by the disrespect that Mike, the funeral organizer gave towards my mom and I in June ‘21 after my father passed away from a terminal brain tumor, but his death was unexpected since it was actually caused from his chemo and radiation treatment causing a blood clot in his brain.I was not going to say anything, but let’s be real, I don’t care anymore. Mike is a j**** My mom and I went a few days after he passed. Mike’s attitude is awful, he rolls his eyes when you ask questions, gives terribly short answers, and is straight up rude! He got mad and yelled at us when we asked if we could have the night to look over songs and readings because we hadn’t had time to plan. He literally scoffed at us, and rolled his eyes and would tap his pen repeatedly on the table when we were trying to decide on anything. Rushing us. His entire posture was off, he sat cross legged, arms crossed, chair pulled back from the table. He is so disrespectful and I’ve never felt so ashamed to say I belong to St. Mary Chardon.I asked to say a few words for my father’s funeral, and he literally said, “we don’t do that because we don’t want people up there crying for 20 minutes.” And I hadTo beg to even say anything. He made me call the priest, and read the priest my entire eulogy. Fortunately Father Andy let me. But was so unneeded after everything I’d just gone through and an extra hurdle.Mike is a j**** He shouldn’t be in that position, he’s rude, insulting and makes difficult times even moreDifficult. After years of going to the school and being a Parrish member, I felt so insulted and disrespect towards my father who would always go out of his way to support St. Mary Chardon.No, I do not recommend SMC until Mike is gone. Yes I am writing this months later, out of respect for a friend who works in the office. But I don’t care, I’m not holding it in. It’s been bothering me for months with how he treated my mom and I. And I want EVERYONE TO know.
