Disappointed by the rude bank attendant. Went to deposit money into account and open another savings account for my child. Bank attendant said there is no one to help me open another account and I needed to schedule an apt. She stated there is no openings for 2 weeks to get an apt to be able to schedule. I stated that's okay I have children and I would call to schedule. When I returned to my car I did my own research and opened the savings account online myself. The bank attendant did not offer that option nor direct me in that direction.

Look at all the negative reviews on this chardon bank! I've been with huntington for 13 years with several accounts. They closed all my accounts down and locked me out because I tried to deposit a large business check from another company i own into my account from chase. This was too much for them and the fraud dept took over. Don't do business in chardon.

Twice now within the last month, I've tried to open a checking account with this bank. First time I ask, I get a frosty reply of "We are a very busy branch, YOU need to make an appointment". Uhhh, welcome to Ohio I guess. Today, I walk in (albeit at lunchtime), and greet the only person in the cubicle land with "excuse me ma'am".... But I get a death glare and a "I'm on the phone" remark dripping with I'll kick your butt vibes if you take one step closer. Bottom line, o for 2. Seems like being friendly is not an option in this particular banks branch location. There are other banks that will take my money.

This branch is awesome! Is it true the ATM closest to Heinens is a third party atm? Have heard this and want to confirm.

Terrible bank. This branch especially. You want to speak with a banker? Good luck, it’ll be a week before you’re able to sit down and have a conversation with them because they require an appointment for every mundane thing. They don’t do their jobs, and most certainly do not help out their tellers. You want to see the branch manager? Good luck with that, shes too busy to see ANYONE. Sitting in her office all day doing absolutely nothing. The only real workers of that branch is the teller line. Everyone else who works there is terrible and shouldn’t be in customer service.

Terrible customer experience. Nobody greets you when you walk in or asks how they can help and the staff appears to busy to assist with even basic questions. In addition, an appointment is needed to speak to a “banker” for anything other than a deposit or withdraw. Do not recommend putting your money in this bank.

I had a humiliating experience today at the Chardon Branch of Huntington. This negative review is only a review of the Chardon branch. This is about Customer Service. I have even had great service in Chesterland's Huntington while driving through when I needed something, and this is not even the town where I live. And, as you will see below the brach in Burton is phenomenal!!! All banks essentially provide similar products and interest rates, so it comes down to how they value and treat their customers. They have TERRIBLE customer service. I will talk below about "the community" to give some context.Community banks are used because they are part of the community. I lived in Burton for 20 years and at that bank they were definitely a "community bank". They knew your name and your dog's name - even called you in at Christmas to give you home-made biscuits for your dog. They went way above and beyond for every simple little banking need, and I trusted them. They were skilled in their banking knowledge and people skills. It would actually be valuable to have them teach Chardon employees customer service skills. First National in Chardon is another great option if you are moving to Chardon and need a bank. They also know you by name and seem happy to see you.I have rarely had good service at Chardon Huntington, basically unpersonalized, marginal assistance, and they always make you feel like you are bothering them if you have a question. But, today I had a horrible humiliating experience. To provide information on how important community is to me: I have lived in Geauga county for 25 years (Burton for 20, Chardon for 5). I have been a local nurse for 40 years, taught full time in the northeast Ohio for 30 years, teaching over 3200 nurses in northeast Ohio. I was Assistant Director of Nursing for a local hospital for 5 years. I was a local business owner for many years (opened my business banking account in Burton branch) and still have one small business. I have 16 family members in Chardon, 4 have/had businesses. We volunteer for a variety of community functions and fund-raisers. I taught nurses at Geauga "community" hospital for 15 years and worked in the ICU there for 10 years. We are very community focused. I have always worked (40 years part time) at community hospitals as opposed to the more "exciting" city hospitals because I love the community spirit and the feeling like I was caring for "my own". I value the community and have actually built an honorable reputation. Today, one employee took a shout at me loudly in the bank lobby for all to hear. Who knows if one of my former students could have been in there? She doesn't know me and doesn't know if any of the other people in the bank were people I know or have association-with.The story: I waited in the teller line to pay off a car loan. We started the process, she had my drivers license and began helping me on the computer screen. I was at the point of writing out the check and noticed my checkbook was not in the pocket of my yoga pocket (yep - heart in my throat for a moment). I told her I needed to check my car and possible go to where I just got my hair cut. Since I might need to go to the salon - I told her I would grab my license (in case I needed to drive). I was gone 15 seconds as my car was in the first spot by the door and the checkbook was on the ground next to the driver's side. There were two people in line and 4 tellers who had customers with them (there were also small groups of people waiting in chairs, to speak to people in the peripheral offices). I went up, about 8-10 feet away from the previous teller who I had initiated my process, to wait for her to be done with her customer, to ask her if she had anything I needed to continue with my process to pay off loan, as I left in a rush. The girl at the far left called me over and I said I "had to ask my previous teller a question". She very loudly scolded me and told me that "I had to wait in line, they have a line&

Probably one of the worst experiences I’ve had in a long time. They make things difficult for new customers. I’ve already started looking for a new bank.

The worst customer service experience at a bank. I was trying to deposit money into my daughter's checking account, which btw, I have done many times. I am an authorized user on her account. I pull up say hi I would like to make a deposit into her account but I don't know the account number. I was told if I don't know the account number then no. I said but I've done this before I'm an authorized user. Again, the teller told me if I don't have the account number then no. So away I drove and decided to call the bank because she was FLAT OUT RUDE. The rude teller winds up answering the phone and I asked to speak to the manager and I said she was rude and then she said don't yell at me and hung up the phone. Oh really????? So I called back cuz yeah, that's not ok. Then I was told by a different employee that she probably didn't hear me that they all know that if you are an authorized user then you don't need the account number. Oh really, again???? She flat out said NO!!!!!! Didn't hear me?????? Seriously. She heard me. If someone is depositing money into your bank, maybe you could be a little nicer. Listen a little better. If there is a policy change then say so. My daughter is in college and needed money today and I couldn't provide that for her because of this completely OBNOXIOUS teller. Be nice. Stop and think about your attitude and how treat people when they are just trying to take care of their family.

This bank used to be excellent....but that was many many years ago. Now it is so poorly managed. Closes at 5pm on Fridays now which stinks for someone working a 9-5 as this used to be open a bit later so we could do banking. So now all that is left is Saturday mornings which let me tell you is a nightmare. Parking lot is always full to capacity and lines out the back for drive through. This Saturday was extra special as they only had two lines working through drive through (3-4 cars deep in each lane) and ONE poor girl working both lines. Horrible.
