I have always been fairly healthy and for decades my relationship with my family doctor (which, I've had many over the years) consisted of an annual exam which took about five minutes of the doctor's time. Then, I had some fairly serious health problems and I knew that I wanted (and needed) a primary care provider who would spend more time with me and help me through the problems that I was having because I did not understand any of it. I somehow came upon Dr. Wenzell and Simplicity Health and asked to meet Dr. Wenzell. We sat down in a conference room, talked, and he spent more time in that one meeting listening and talking with me than any of my doctors had in the last 10 years.I liked the idea of me paying Dr. Wenzell and Simplicity Health to be my family doctor and working for me, as opposed to going to a doctor who is getting paid by an insurance company; and therefore, works more for them than me. So, I decided to join and have Dr. Wenzell and Simplicity work directly for me, and I would then use my insurance for any specialists, tests, hospitalizations, etc.Dr. Wenzell has been great. He told me that he would be there for me every step of the way, and he has been true to his word. He has taken his time to listen to what I have to say and explain to me what is going-on better than any doctor that I have ever had. I can text him any time and he always responds. If I need to see him, he can usually get me in by the end of the day. He sends me to specialists and tests when needed and he takes time to see what they did, explain it to me, and what comes next. He even came to see me when I was in the hospital.Dr. Wenzell got my problems under control from a medical standpoint such that I am no longer worried about the worst but can now look forward to many more years, if I do what he tells me. When it comes to my medical care, Dr. Wenzell drives the boat. If a specialist wants me to take a pill, do a test, or undergo a procedure , I make sure that it's all ok with Dr. Wenzell because he's the one I trust.Quite frankly, Dr. Wenzell is the best family doctor that I have ever had - by far. He is the one that I trust to help me, oversee, and coordinate my medical care. Dr. Wenzell and Simplicity Health are well worth the investment - and, in my opinion, much more on account it's my health that we're talking about and I need a good doctor to take care of me and be responsive to my needs, and that's priceless in my book. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Wenzell and Simplicity Health.Jim H.

Have had an amazing experience with Dr. Opperman! If you’re looking for personalized care and to know your primary care physician and their staff (Michelle and Sara are fantastic), this is the right place for you. It’s a non-traditional practice based on providing the best care to you as the individual rather than to the masses. Highly recommend!

I am so Thankful to Dr. Opperman, Nurse Michelle, and Sara. Such friendly staff. My health has not been this good in years. I feel that they are genuine in their care for you. Their practice is the way Health care should be. I highly recommend them.

I ended up at this practice because my previous doctor quit without notice. I was nervous about the change because I previously felt so secure with my former doctor, but I could not be more impressed with Simplicity Health. The whole staff is so kind and attentive. They are focused on the human being in front of them, not distracted by multi-tasking. Dr. Wenzell spent nearly an hour with me. I appreciate that he is so whole-person focused. I am glad I've ended up where I am and I feel confident in my choice of primary care doctor.

I have loved switching to Simplicity for my primary care services. Dr. Wenzell has always taken his time when with me. He has helped multiple times with authorizations something that is challenging to get a PCP to complete. He also does not just refer you to specialist for minor issues.On the other-hand they are more than willingly to collaborate with your specialist if needed. I have also loved the virtual appointment option for when I can’t leave work for an appointment. I have saved a significant amount of money using their convenient lab and pharmacy services.If you’re fed up with your concerns not being heard and your provider just trying to move patients in and out. Give Dr. Wenzell a try. His wonderful office staff Sara and Michelle will make you feel right at home.

I cannot say enough good things about Simplicity Health! I’ve been a patient since the early days of the practice and have never before experienced such thorough, attentive, and genuinely caring and kind care. Never, ever rushed. I am so thankful I found Dr Opperman when I was searching and hoping for a better type of primary care. Just an outstanding level of care in every aspect.

WoW! So glad we found your office. So far the "hardest" part has been changing our mindset and realizing that you truly are just a phone call or text away....NO waiting. (and what doctor texts you?? You DO!) ❤️ We've gotten more health care/results in only 2 visits from you, than in our last 12 years of doctoring in Dayton. Seriously...love the way you care for us.

I always appreciate the opportunity to discuss my symptoms fully and walk out of the session with a detailed plan of treatment that we have developed together. It is so refreshing to not have a doctor that wants to immediately do expensive tests or throw some new medication at me.

I've really enjoyed having Josh as my doctor. He's been a bright light in the mess that is our current Healthcare system. I've literally had more interaction with him as my doctor in the last 3 months than I've had with all my doctors in the last 4 decades. He attentive and seems to solve the problem, not just prescribe meds to fix the symptoms. Being able to get in touch with him at any time via text or email or phone is like having my own personal physician, like the ultra wealthy do. He has also helped to unravel issues I've had with other regular specialists . It's the way medicine should work.One thing that was impressive in our first consult was that he came to the appointment fully prepared and had read my long history and was aware of what was going on. All of my previous doctors didn't have the time to even read my current chart, let alone my historical one. They would spend most of the 10 minutes they had to diagnose and prescribe my meds just catching up on my chart.The meds and the home care alone would justify the monthly fees.

I am a new patient of Dr Wenzell. I turned to Simplicity Health out of frustration with standardized "healthcare" and the lack of time and compassion that we now are told is the "norm". Not true! Dr. O and Dr Wenzell are a blessing. My PCP had retired several years ago and finding a new PCP has been an exhausting journey. Simplicity Health is a gift (so is nurse Michelle!) and I feel so grateful for the path that led me there. It takes a village and I'm so grateful that Simplicity Health is now a part of mine!

Dr. Opperman and Michelle are amazing! I needed follow up testing after some initial scary results and they made sure I got in for tests and scheduled appointments at specialists within days. I had test results in literally days that would have normally taken weeks to months if they would not have worked their magic. I am forever grateful for their compassion, kindness and patience! Highly recommend Simplicity Health to everyone! I have seen a lot of doctors and specialist and they are in a class of their own!!

It may seem silly to write a review for a regular doctor appointment, but I really can’t say enough good things about the care I consistently receive at Simplicity.Michelle is the absolute sweetest and always remembers the little details (yes I’m a big baby and always need a children’s size needle for a blood draw).What I appreciate most is the cornerstone of the direct primary care model and the thing that would never let me go back to having an insurance based primary care doctor - TIME! Dr. Opperman has a very straightforward approach and takes the time to really look at the big picture as he’s advising on next steps.Having the ability to ask all the questions and get them answered thoughtfully has made a significant impact on how I approach my health on a regular basis. If you’ve wondered if direct primary care is right for you - it is.

Doc. Opperman and Michelle, I am still a new patient, but I am very happy with my experience thus far. I can't thank you both enough for you time, kindness and esp availability. And now you have 3 members of my family. And thanks to your families as well?So not new anymore. When was the last time a doc office called out of the blue to see how you are doing? exactly.Totally not what I'm used to, in and out in 15 mins' hurry up only talk about one thing please.... what was your name again?. I want to express how impressed I am with Simplicity Health. I feel that the model of practice at Simplicity Health is what medicine should be - individualized and personal attention without the thumb of big medicine and insurance companies pressing down limiting the amount of time and what can be addressed at a visit with my PCP. Dr Opperman and nurse Michelle are great people - friendly, kind, empathetic, and approachable. Both are readily available and quickly respond to my emails and texts. I receive prescriptions at cost, in fact I have bragged to my mother about how I received 180 days worth of a blood pressure med for $10, AND the tablets were cut in half! I am not at all thrilled with cutting my own pills, and when I opened that bottle and found my pills already halved, I was giddy! This is a tremendous service, thank you! A week ago or so, I needed a refill of another prescription, therefore I sent a text requesting the refill, and approximately 20 minutes later was texted that my prescription was ready, and I was there before noon to pick up the prescription. The membership fee is cost-saving when compared to what I would pay in insurance premiums and copays, including prescription and lab copays. I am delighted and relieved at the discovery of Simplicity Health.
