Make sure there's oil in your car before you leave. They take no responsibility.

They want to charge $157.99 to put some $17.99 diesel exhaust fluid in my car. I'll do it myself. They always take advantage of people. Hate this place so much

had a nightmare situation with Kempthorn Motors and their service department which really could of been avoided with just some basic communication from their staff. No one their seems to communicate with each other and they certainly did not communicate with me regarding my car repair. I brought my car in to have some work done under warranty which I was originally told was a vacuum leak so theyd order the parts and it should only take a few days. After about 2 weeks of hearing nothing I finally called the service department to check the status on my car. The answer I received is we are just waiting on the new engine to arrive. Apparently they decided to just replace my entire engine instead but didn't think it might be important to notify me the owner of the car that they were going to replace my entire engine. Fast forward another month forward and the new engine finally arrives they install it. I get a call asking if I was having any issues with my brakes when I brought the car in which I was not so they determined that the rotors had rusted frozen from sitting at their lot for 6 weeks waiting on the engine. They went ahead and replaced the rotors and brakes and I finally had my car back. I ran into multiple issues when finally getting my car back. The first being after driving my car for a week I went to use the emergency brake and it was completely limp and had been disconnected. Again this something that could have been solved by some simple communication. If there is an issue with the emergency brake at least contact the customer and give them the option to fix it before just disconnecting it without telling me. For one its a pretty big safety issue to just disconnect the emergency brake from someones car without telling them about. Secondly they could have just fixed it while they had my car already in there, I would have been happy to pay for it if it was not covered under the cpo warranty, but at least give me the option before disconnecting it.

We purchased a Passat from Kempthorn, and were happy with the sale process. The car was in an accident after 6 months, and the airbag didn't deploy. Several months later we received a notice from VW that there was a recall on the airbag. We called Kempthorn service for 7 months, and they claimed there wasn't a recall on our vehicle. We finally called VW corporate and they recommended we use another dealer to repair the recall part. Our car was serviced in one day after calling another dealer. This situation could've been catastrophic. 't will NEVER give business to Kempthorn again.
