I’ve taken my 2-year old cat to them for a checkup last year and another one today. I didn’t have a great experience then, and today was worse. First, they can’t get my cat’s name right. I know it sounds stupid, but to have to correct them over and over and over on how to say his 3-letter name is exhausting, and makes me feel like they don’t listen or don’t care. Maybe make a note on his chart so you know? And to have the receptionist say to me 2 years in a row when I explain to her how to pronounce his name, “Well, it looks like Ale!” How about, “Oh, I’m sorry?” or, “that’s an interesting name?” She made the exact same comment to me this year and last year. I remember because I found it insensitive last year, and this year, she says the exact same thing! Lots of people name their pets interesting names, so why are you arguing with me over the pronunciation of his name???Secondly, my cat is a very large framed cat. He’s built like a linebacker. Even as a kitten he was big. I honestly was afraid he’d just keep growing into a 20-something pound tiger! Last year, he weighed 16 lbs and was still a kitten! This year, he weighed the same, and I was happy! I watch his diet carefully, and measure his food. I’ve had a truly obese cat (medium framed) before and it was really difficult, so I’m very conscious of these things, but also aware that he’s a linebacker. I tried to broach the subject, was dismissively told he was overweight, and was told to read the instructions on his bag of food and measure it, which I already do!!!! They leave the room to get a medication and the tech came back and handed me a sticky note saying he should weigh 12 pounds! He probably weighed 12 pounds when he was 6 months old! Have a conversation with me! Don’t just tell me to measure his food, which I already do, then send a note saying he should weigh 12 lbs! Do you really expect me to put my 2-year old linebacker cat who’s still extremely playful and energetic on a crash diet to lose 20% of his body weight??

My dog was taken back to get his nails trimmed. Upon returning Dr Sarr came in with the technician and said she'd already examined him. I didn't appreciate not being present for the exam.

The staff at Winchester Veterinary Clinic are compassionate and caring, courteous and professional - the only vet we've used for over a decade. When you found the right place for your pets, you just want to tell everyone how great they are. You can't go wrong with them. Thank you for being the amazing clinic you are.

We had to put our oldest kitty asleep this evening and everyone was extremely nice, caring, empathetic, and gave us plenty of time. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping us through a painful process, but making it easy.

I have been bringing my dog Max to Winchester Vet Clinic for a while now (since before they moved locations) and the staff are always friendly and very sweet to Max. I've lived many places and had lots of vets for him over the years and he's never shown and fear or hesitation here. When they've taken him in the back for bloodwork or biopsies on growths or anything else he always goes with them willingly and is so excited. We've boarded him a few times for trips where we couldn't bring him with us (once at the old facility and twice at the new location) and he is always very happy when we go, not even looking back at us when they take him toward the kennels. Wonderful vet, great staff, and a good, welcoming environment.

Excellent caring staff, knowledgeable veterinarians and vet techs. They have cared for our families dogs for years and I wouldn’t take my current dog anywhere else.

Made us feel soo important and took our animals in for treatment. I couldn't ask for a more welcoming place. The staff are GREAT and KIND to everyone who come through their door. Making them feel as important as the person before and after you. Great job guys I wish more places were like your. Yall even have entire play rooms dedicated to cats and to dogs. It's an animal retreat when your not in need of medical services.

I am a new dog owner and was new to this clinic. With that said, being a new patient to them I was not fully informed or made aware of their clinic practices. So when I called into question some of their practices that I either didn’t understand or thought was odd and sought clarification, instead of it being fully discussed I was sent an email and canceled as a patient. I was flabbergasted. The questions and concerns I presented to the receptionist who took my call were legitimate concerns. But, definitely not something to be canceled over. Unfortunately, the “lead” receptionist (as she called herself) that I spoke with to voice my concerns was unkind and rude. I learned later it was she who inaccurately relayed our phone conversation to the doctor resulting in our cancellation as patients. If I could avoid the front desk receptionists altogether and just deal with the kind technicians and vet things would have turned out very differently I’m sure.At my dogs first visit they educated us on some of the vaccines but not all. It wasn’t until we received the printout of the office visit that we realized he was given more than what was stated (which we had to pay for!).Then, when scheduling his office visits we noticed there were two office visits scheduled. One was two weeks out the other three weeks out. When I called seeking clarification and asked why there were two appointments the receptionist initially had no idea what I was talking about until she looked into it further. It was for the same booster! If I hadn’t caught it, my dog would have been inoculated twice for the same thing a week apart. On another occasion, for a tech visit, we were unaware that for tech visits the owner does not go back with their dog. The tech takes the dog alone and returns. Our dog was receiving another vaccine at this visit. Not knowing this was the office’s practice we were confused as to why we couldn’t go back with our puppy who gets very nervous and anxious if not accompanied by me or my husband. That same receptionist was very rude to us for even asking to go back with our dog.We also noticed in our vaccine booklet that was handed back to us that there was no signature indicating who administered the vaccine; not really a big deal. But then I noticed a vaccine he was given was crossed out (by that same receptionist!) she claimed he wasn’t given that vaccine. I had to show in my own paperwork from their office that he did in fact get that vaccine. Overall, I expressed needing clarification on their practices, what to expect, and felt that the office could improve in their communication and record keeping. I also requested to go back with my dog in the future because I had lost faith in their ability to make sure he was actually getting the right vaccine due to mistakes they made already. I don’t see this as being unreasonable whatsoever. Lastly, twice while at the office, I’ve noticed the front receptionist, who appeared disgruntled both times, badmouth their clients in front everyone in the waiting room, which is very unprofessional and an invasion of privacy. The receptionist mismanaged the situation and inaccurately relayed my concerns to the vet. Unfortunately, I have not been given an opportunity to speak on my own behalf directly to the vet and have only dealt with the rude receptionist. Needless to say, if you are a dog owner who cares for your dog like they are your child as I do mine, this is NOT the clinic for you. The moment you call into question anything they do or ask why, the lead front receptionist will get offended and put in a bad word to the doctor and you’ll get canceled!

We’ve trusted Dr. Grinstead with our zoo for many years now. Cats, dogs, bunnies, rats, and birds- she sees them all! The new facility is wonderful!

Biggest mistake I've ever made in the care of my fur baby. To upsetting and to complicated to get into the ugly details. Bottom line is my pet was done more permanent harm than good. Awful, awful experience. My family and my pet will never be the same. The trust lost and faith in animal care is severely diminished. Avoid this establishment at all cost.
