Mixed feelings. Took some of my mother-in-law's collectibles to the store and were able to sell them.
Used them again to help clear my mother's apartment after her passing. What a terrible choice. They ended up being the most expensive mover and dumpster service. They quoted one crew and one truck, then 2 showed up adding to the cost. The building manager even commented to me that they were the slowest moving guys she had ever seen. Makes sense when you are paying by the hour.
Most things were deemed unsalable. When that happens you have to pay a disposal fee. Then, I saw items in worse condition being sold online. I have a feeling our items were unsalable because of the city we lived in - it's not an affluent suburb.
Still waiting almost a year for the money for one item that was actually sold. Guess I'll never receive that cash.
Needless to say, we have more to sell but won't use Transitional Design again.

They used to be cool. Inside store, verything is over priced and most of the workers need an attitude adjustment. Auctions are riddled with sports memorabilia and coins that obviously are a side hustle for someone. They aren't from an estate that's for sure. And I don't even want get started on the ridiculous bidding that goes on. Hard to even get a deal anymore.

Great selection of refurbished furniture and other items, and they have a terrific online auction system as well. It's also easy to set up deliveries with them.

Transitional Design helped with the dispersal of vintage and antique pieces of my mother's treasures as she downsized from her home of 55 years. Transactions were smooth, and well documented. They also provided the moving service to take her household goods from her home to her new apartment. Their estimating team was thorough, polite and considerate of my mother. Their moving team was personable, professional and attentive to my mother's needs. We recommend them to anyone! Oh, and don't miss their retail shop!

As a realtor, I will always recommend Transitional Design to my clients. They make the process of clearing out a house truly easy. The staff is very professional; introducing themselves to the client, being careful with the client's possessions, and working diligently to finish the job in a timely manner.

I tried the online auction for the first time. I won the item I wanted at a good price which was great! However, it was large and too heavy for my husband and I to unload from a U Haul and get up into our house. We used the delivery service and got quite a surprise when we were charged for quite a few additional services besides the $140 per hour for the movers!
I am editing my original review to say that a really great person reached out to me and made things right with the extra charges. I truly appreciate that! It shows they care care about their customers.
