I cannot say enough wonderful things about Bartels! We started bringing our chow chow Kirby for grooming there after a terrible and traumatizing experience at her old groomer. Laura is kind, attentive, and so talented. She calls me with updates and makes Kirby feel so comfortable. Now both our dogs will always go here for vetting AND boarding! We boarded them here for the first time this weekend while we were occupied with our wedding. After explaining how nervous I was leaving them due to a previous freak accident that led to our bull terrier Baylor going missing for two weeks, the staff made sure we received text and picture updates multiple times a day to calm my nerves. Josh spent some extra time getting to know Baylor which was beyond sweet. Usually our pups can’t wait to come home after a weekend away from us, but this time I think they wanted to stay and hangout with their new friends! If you are looking for a vet, groomer, or boarding services in northeast Ohio, GO TO BARTELS! ?

They are way over priced, they charge for un-necessary procedures and they have no courtesy when it comes to your work schedule. I've had the worst experience and I'm sure my pet did as well, while being groomed they tried to muzzle her, which she did not need the additional stress for she is groomed at home as well. We take her in the spring every year for grooming. She was cut several times, and I was told she could not be bathed and they recommended I bathe her at home, which I had no problem with, until I was charge for a full grooming. I would NOT recommend this Vet to anyone, especially if you live outside of Brecksville.

This was my first visit at Bartels. I switched from my other vet because they were an animal emergency hospital. Even though they were nice, it was always so chaotic and I never felt that one on one connection or them being able to take time to explain things to me or get to know me and my pets. From the time I called Bartels on the phone, they were SO NICE and treated me like my animals were important to them before I even scheduled the appointment. Then when I went in, we received amazing service and felt like we will actually be able to connect one on one and they will remember my animals when we come in. They are maybe a little more expensive than my last vet, but not by a lot. It's definitely worth paying a few extra dollars. From the receptionist, to vet tech, to vet, to check out receptionist, it was exactly what I was looking for for my animals. I'm so happy I found Bartels!

I am not one to write a negative review, but in this case, I had to. I took my cat to Bartel's last summer because she had been peeing outside the litterbox and wasn't acting like herself. After her exam, the doctor told me nothing was wrong with her and that the peeing was behavioral. My cat continued to pee and I took her in again in December with the same complaints and was once again told it was behavioral. Over the next month, the peeing escalated and so did some aggressive behavior, and when I went to wipe it up, I noticed that the urine was pink and had bits of blood in it. I called Bartel's again, was told that I could bring her in again, but that it was probably behavioral. I asked how pink urine and blood could be considered behavioral and asked if they had ever taken a urine sample on the previous visits and was told no. I was shocked, but made another appointment for an exam and said I wanted a test run on her urine. A few days went by and it kept bothering me that they never took a urine sample, so I took her to another vet. Within 5 minutes of the exam, the new vet told me she had bladder stones and would need surgery. It's been a month since her surgery, and guess what??? She has not peed ONCE outside of the litter box. I always considered Bartel's to be the best vet hospital since they were so expensive but learned the hard way that they are not. I still can't understand how a cat could go to the vet with urinary issues and not have her urine checked - they were happy to charge me over $800 for both visits, though. I feel awful that my cat felt bad for over 6 months and that my new carpeting was ruined. Lesson learned; I will never go back to Bartel's again!

I’ll never take my dogs anywhere else ever again. They’ve done my dogs acl surgeries. And have been so thorough with explaining and looking over my girl completely to heal her inside and out. The first time. I appreciate them so so much.

They do a very good job but now due to covid-19 you have to call and they are not very good at picking up their phone. I had to call a few times and waited a good amount of time for them to bring it out.

Made an appointment for 4:10 had to wait for 40 min for them to get our dog terrible customer service for bringing our pets their since 2008 they get some much money from our 3 dogs and cat for us to be treated like this is very rude

I have been bringing my pets here for more than a decade and have been happy with their service. In the last few weeks, the clerical staff has really dropped the ball. The first incident, I needed to pick up a written prescription and was told they would let the doctor know and call me when it was ready. Three days later, I called to see if it was ready and was told that they had never informed the doctor of my request. The second incident, I again needed a written prescription and to pick up some medicine. The person who answered the phone and took the message assured me they would call when it was ready and even verified my phone number. I heard nothing all day long and called at 5:50 to see if it was ready. The woman who answered the phone said it was ready but that they close at 6pm. It takes me 30 minutes to get to their location.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Bartels. My 5-year-old chow had a traumatic experience at her previous groomer, and couldn’t even get through a simple bath without thrashing so hard she almost hurt herself and her groomer. Her old groomer treated her like a burden, so finally I stopped bringing her there. After some searching I found Bartels and they have been an absolute blessing. Kirby’s groomer Laura is kind and compassionate, and takes extra special care of my “difficult” Kirby. She transforms my fluffy, tangled, talon-nailed lion back into a sleek, smooth pup. I don’t trust many people with my dogs, but Bartels makes the cut for sure. Thank you Laura and everyone at Bartels!

First let me say that Bartels used to be my regular pet clinic. Dr. Zarle was wonderful. Then a new vet came (who is now gone) who had a bad attitude and I decided to find another vet. I only brought my pet back to Bartels this time because they tested for something that my regular vet did not. Harriet at the front desk gave me inappropriate and condescending questioning when I told her that I would not be keeping my rescue cat but would find him a good home. Because the cat

We love the staff at this place! The doctors actually care for the pets, rather than treat them like numbers as we've experienced at other vet offices. I don't understand the reviews complaining about the cost of the hospital because I found them to be well in line with the other pet hospitals we've been to. I know there are cut-rate vets that are cheap, but I'd never take our pets to a place like that. You pay for what you get, and Bartels you get care, compassion and help for your pets! On another note, they recently improved the interior of the hospital and it looks great! I love the new clean look to the hospital and it's really a pleasant experience bringing our pets there. I highly recommend using Bartels - they will treat you how you deserve to be treated!
