New to this bank. New to having a bank account. Overall I have no problem with the works at the bank itself. Customer service on the other hand need to do a better job. The guy that I talked to wasn't nice at all. I only has two questions about my account. If it bothers you to receive a call in the section of the job you work for, go work somewhere else.

If you Are trying to get a mortgage, loan, or home equity line of credit this is not the institution for you. Unless you have all the free time in the world to jump hoops, and you are not working with a time frame!!!The branch manager in Boardman is very kind, helpful, and professional. She is the only reason that I had decided to work with Citizens. Sadly, what she deems as acceptable doesn’t matter bc the loan processors and the underwriters make that decision. There were several items of documentation that she approved, and explained would satisfy Citizens Request, and they didn’t. I had to go else where.It put me dramatically behind on the renovations of our home and left me greatly disappointed in Citizens. Another gentleman’s google review about his extensive unsuccessful loan application should have been a red flag but I dismissed it!!! Don’t be like me and lie to yourself thinking your loan is going to be the exception!!!!!I have since started working with another Financial institution. I am thankful for their expedited services. Once I have gotten all settled in with my HELOC, I will move both my checking and savings.I have been banking there for over 5 years

Let me tell you of my experience with Citizens bank. If you want to get a home Mortgage with Citizens please prepare to wait 5 months and consistently false problems. The loan officer at this particular branch made us wait 5 months for something that could of been done in a month. He’s consistent at being a disappointment. I asked him multiple times if we should go with a different company his answer “no we’re almost done” not even close. We told us to pay our taxes which was $17,000 a month before taxes were due in July (covid) and he said we would close on the house next week. Nope didn’t happen. We paid $17,000 in one day because we were told it would help us close faster which it didn’t. Not only did we need up losing the house (this is a vacation house btw) because the home owner was getting tired of waiting 5 months because of the incompetence of this bank and that loan officer. The problem is that the loan officer asks for information and then a week later asks for another piece of information, why couldn’t he ask for it all at once? Our father is also self employed and they couldn’t be even read our taxes correctly ? How are you a loan officer and couldn’t read taxes correctly ? We had to go to our CPA and she had to email them to literally read the taxes correctly. If you want false promises and consistent disappointment please chose citizens bank. You’ll regret it :)

I wanted to give a huge thank you to the manager Janel for her excellent customer service!!!! She is the reason I am still a customer at Citizens Bank after the recent issue I had. I had a $3 overdraft in my account (which is not my primary bank account) due to a transfer fee and was not notified of this overdraft until over 2 weeks later by letter. By the time I received the letter I was shocked to see Citizens was charging me $118 in overdraft fees ?. I immediately called customer service and they removed only one charge and told me that I need to keep a closer eye on my accounts even though I wasn’t notified once of the overdraft until weeks later after the fees accumulated. I felt this was unacceptable given technology of calling/texting/emailing. I stopped in the bank on Saturday and the teller couldn’t help so I called back today and was told the manager was busy and she would get back to me. I honestly wasn’t expecting a return call and was expecting Citizens to treat me like any other big bank and charge me $118 over a $3 overdraft. However I was wrong!! The manager Janel called me after hours on a Monday evening and told me that she will remove the fees. Thank you Janel and thank you Citizens for being a great place to bank!!!!

I have been a customer with Citizens Bank for 1.5 years. I have used the two locations, Austintown and Boardman, on numerous occasions. I have been very satisfied and actually impressed with the level of customer service. I am always greeted with a smile. The transactions are completed smoothly, and the information given is accurate. Kudos to Olympia.
