04/6/24 - My second time visiting Gramercy Books for a book signing event. Yesterday, I purchased the book of an invited guest. The guest author, Ms Dulcé Sloan. The nice size book store has a variety of classical, modern, and traditional literature for your liking. They also offer a variety of trinkets for your entertainment. Clean and nicely organized shelves. I purchased Ms. Sloan’s book, and a staff member’s (Daniel) pick. Thank you. Parking out front and nearby. A coffee shop literally next door. Nice and friendly service. Decent prices.

If you’re looking for a unique gem of a bookstore, Gramercy should be the first place you stop. Curated with an endless collection of unique reads, you’ll always find something new every time you walk in.The store is clean, the staff always sweet (thanks again for your help, Natalie!), and the trip always worth your time. Needless to say, stop and visit Gramercy!

My favorite bookstore in the Columbus area (and possibly ever!). Great selection, amazing kids section, and kind booksellers with great taste. They also host some lovely events. Love this place!

Pretty disappointed with the meet and greet held here today. It should’ve been way more organized than it was. Many people were left in tears, especially children. Next time I suggest having people buy tickets for the event because this was a major waste of time for people.

Staff was kind yet incompetent when it came to dealing with the RL Stine book signing. Throughout my 2 1/2 hour wait, I was well aware that my odds of getting a signed book weren't high but that RL Stine would walk by to say hi to everyone in line once the signing ended for those who couldn't get a signature. This was in part due to the staff giving updates every now and then, which was appreciated. Once he was 15 feet away from me, the staff found it a good idea to announce that he would be leaving shortly and we would need to be quick in our interactions. Well they then announce that he is gone in 5 minutes which causes an uproar and people from way back in the line, who would've been able to meet him, swarm this 80 year old man for a picture. They quickly whisked him away before I could get a photo. Should I, having been 15 feet away, also rushed a frail old man? Seems unreasonable to me. Even as people flooded the street, the workers said that everyone needs off the street, but they didn't truly enforce the rule. If the workers didn't cause chaos, and if they could've controlled the chaos they created, then those who didn't get a signed book would've at least have gotten to meet and get a picture with a beloved author. Instead, I waited in the cold for 2 1/2 hours for the "privilege" of looking at RL Stine from afar.

The booksellers always give a friendly greeting whenever I walk through the door. During my first visit (months ago), Daniel walked me through some of his faves and recommendations based on what I was looking for. The books he suggested opened my eyes to different perspectives and voices within a genre I've been reading for decades. I will be forever grateful for that. So happy that I found Gramercy!Oh, and there's Kitties Coffee right next door. ? and ☕️ always go together ❤️
