Terrible - would not recommend, they are money-hungry and rude. If you are bidding online they will charge you at least 15% on top of what your highest bid is and double the normal shipping cost. Owner was insulting. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH

TERRIBLE!! Do not bid here! Scammers! Making their money from shipping/and overcharging. Just a little backstory about this incident; I won a beautiful pair of binoculars on the website through which the online bidding took place, hibid.com. Bidders always have the option of providing their own shipping labels, by law. I bid on binoculars and won them for $6. My credit card was charged twice, once for the $6 that I agreed to pay while bidding, and a second, an unauthorized transaction for "shipping," totally $31.05. Never did I agree to pay that, nor was I contacted about it before the charge was placed to discuss this "shipping." Handline Auction took it upon themself to pack the item and purchase shipping that was clearly not the most cost effective approach. When I called to discuss the ridiculous price of $31.05 to ship one item, the person who answered was rude and argumentative and use the terms, "we set the guidelines" and "not my problem." Additionally, his first response over the phone was that it was USPS fault for high shipping, however I called USPS and asked how much it would cost to ship a 3lb item, they told me it would cost approximately $8 for expedited 2-day shipping via flat-rate padded envelopes, providing insurance and protection of the item. The auctioneer claims they do not use flat-rate as it is "90% less cost effective," when the opposite is evidently true. He also claims that I have access to discounted shipping, via eBay, (something I told him over the phone), however this discounted shipping is also accessible to everyone else in the U.S. via other providers such as PayPal, ship station, stamps.com, or pirateship. (Not sure what rock he's living under.) No, the issue here is the sheer disregard and laziness of the auctioneer. He is rude, deceiving, and says things that are blatantly incorrect. One would assume he is scamming people via shipping costs by the hundreds. When he provided the tracking number for my items, I reached out to the postal service and they had not yet accepted my items. I politely asked the auctioneer to refrain from sending them and to reimburse me and he refused. I explained that he could void the label he insisted was already paid for and that USPS would fully reimburse it, but he still refused. I even proposed to provide my own label and he refused. This is absolutely unacceptable and the situation needs to be addressed.

Hands down, best run Auction House around. There is something for everyone's taste. GREAT owner, GREAT merchandise and GREAT deals! The owner John treated me like family, I would recommend this place over and over again!

The auction was held on a very hot day in July in the midst of the Covid 19 reports of increased cases in OH. The auctioneer and his staff made sure everyone had masks and gloves, he deserves an A+ for that. However, this auction was held on a huge farm in Avon. I don't think, the person who lived there, threw anything away. It was a picker's dream come true. However, the auction lasted forever (we left after 6 sweltering hours) due to the fact there was just one auctioneer. They were still not done when we left. Considering the intense heat and the covid situation, at least 2-3 more auctioneers should have been working to help hurry things along. With only one auctioneer, only 1 area at a time could be sold. I know he is in the business to make as much money as he can however, he was almost begging for higher bids-which drew out the process even more. I understand the weather is not his fault and no one seems to have control over the virus-he did have a say in how the auction should be conducted. In addition, pieces parts of the same item were spread over the different table. I was ripped off because a set of glassware had been separated. As I was struggling to the car, lo and behold, there was the missing piece in a completely different area buried with other items. I don't know if I would patronize the auction House again.
