They get 1 star because zero was not an option. I have never been treated with less respect in a business. They acted as if I was an inconvinience to them the moment I walked in the door. I would never give them any of my money. Shop elsewhere.

This was my first experience with Shaker Coin and Jewelry Co. And I couldn't be more satisfied with the experience. I received much more than expected for my gold piece and thoroughly enjoyed browsing a truly interesting collection of coins and other treasures. Owner James Irwin was very knowledge, personable and professional, and I'm looking forward to another visit in the future.

I had made an appointment and brought in a few pieces of jewelry and the owner had looked at the pieces. He said that the one necklace wasn’t worth anything, and maybe I’ll have better luck next time. Well I am so glad I didn’t go off of his word. I took the same necklace to another jewelry store in Mayfield for a second opinion and that same necklace was worth $520. If you’re trying to sell gold, get a second opinion somewhere else even if it’s “not worth anything” at this store.

My wife and I had some coins that we wanted to have appraised to possibly sell and we were seeking some direction as to the best approach to going about it. After doing a Google search we found Shaker Coin & Jewelry Co. and stopped at their store. When walked in we were greeted by Jim who then introduced us to his wife Hedy and were able to discuss our concerns and objectives.Jim and Hedy took time to carefully examine our entire collection and explain details and answer questions throughout the entire process. Their level of expertise and knowledge were clearly evident but what impressed us equally was their patience, professionalism and communication throughout the entire process, thus putting us at ease from the minute we walked in.With our own research and previous knowledge of coins we had a rough idea of what our coins were worth in weight and collectable value. Jim and Hedy took time to explain the current market prices and the values. Given our experience we felt we received a very fair and accurate offer which we agreed to. Their knowledge and extensive history in the business gave us with a high level of confidence during the entire process. We highly recommend Shaker Coin and Jim and Hedy Irwin.

Sold some recently appraised coins. Shaker Coin provided a competitive price and after searching nearby coin stores, Shaker Coin offered the best price. James Irwin was extremely knowledgeable and fair in his assessment. Very happy with Shaker Coin and highly recommend.
