Myself and many of my family members have gotten loans from HFLA in tough times. I always appreciate how intentional and helpful they are. Especially as a black woman, it’s so reassuring to interact with an organization that truly makes me feel like I am worthy of help regardless of my skin tone. The lending world can be very discriminatory towards minorities and towards other marginalized identities, but not HFLA! I would recommend them to anyone.

HFLA has been a strong partner in the community and is deeply respected and trusted throughout Greater Cleveland. It is an incredibly thoughtful organization whose core work involves providing interest free loans. Their repayment rate is over 90% because they work with clients to ensure success in repaying the loan. Unlike predatory lenders they don't set people up to fail by giving them loans they are in no position to pay back or saddling an already struggling client with predatory interest rates. For those who might not otherwise qualify for traditional bank loans, HFLA has been a true anchor in our financial ecosystem. Lastly, HFLA's leadership has a strong and proven record of a commitment to equity and inclusion. I am proud to call them partner.
