Me and my wife went there to get a new member of our family got really attached to a dog named Bel Air and was told we couldn’t take her home with us because she got to excited when meeting us that we would have to keep coming back till she wasn’t so excited around us then we would be able to take her home. I’m sorry but we live over a hour away and not making multiple trips there and back to get her to not get excited to see us. I thought dogs should be excited to see their owners. Friendly employees but don’t know anything about dogs behaviors. So if your looking to adopt a dog from here don’t be playful and try to play with them or your not going to be able to take your new baby home! This place is ridiculous!

I adopted a dog and I loved him I live in an apartment and he attacked the dog across the hall so I took him back to the shelter and they told me they will not take him back until I told them I can’t have an aggressive dog in my apartment and that if they would not take him back then I would have to make him expire. I didn’t even ask for my money back! But they definitely said no refunds which I said fine I am happy to donate.

My friend found a new buddy today. He lost his dog about a month ago to lymphoma. The staff were very nice, the shelter was very clean, and the dogs all looked healthy and well taken care of.

Tried getting into contact with the shelter about my missing animal; messages were read and not replied to via phone, email, or Facebook. Very frustrating but luckily I was able to find my pet, just not with the help of this shelter.

if your animal gets picked up and taken to the animal shelter, expect to pay almost $100. to get them out. they will not give you your pet back without paying and if you don't have the money, they tell you to beg for money from friends or family to pay it. if you can't do that they will threaten to charge you with animal abandonment. Or, to avoid charges because you are poor and can't pay to get them out, you can pay the same amount of money that you couldn't pay to get them out to surrender them. they hold your animals hostage and threaten you with charges all while grifting you out of your money.

I love this place (for the most part) not worth getting into. The animals here really seem more happy and calm than other places. Staff is always very polite, on point and quick. Plus everytime iv been here, somebody has had one of the doggies out to play? definitely a place I would get an animal from or even volunteer.

I am not sure how the animals are treated now that the county took over. I know they were treated very well before the county took over. The big problem that I'm aware of is that when the county took over they shortened the hours. The hours Need to be changed. four of five days have most people at work. If hours are going to be that short, they should at least have a couple of hours on work days that are after 5pm. Maybe make the hours 3-7 Tuesday through Friday. It would not even increase your employee desk hours, but it would give people the chance to see the animals after they get off of work. You would adopt out a lot more animals that way.***I any gave them one star, because I am hoping that a decision maker will see the comment. It seems like most decision makers only look at bad reviews. I don't know enough about the current operation to give them a real rating. ***

I adopted a puppy from them and she’s very sick, has kennel cough, and some other things going on. I contacted the shelter to let them know she was so sick and no one has called me back regarding her. The place is over run with dogs and puppies and smells to high heaven. The dogs are dirty and are in need of help. They have 90 dogs, at a 60 dog capacity. Someone needs to step in and help out.
