A truly asinine policy/protocol/rule... whatever you want to call it. My son woke up with his hand hurting from pinky down left side of wrist and figured he sprained it in his sleep. Went to buy him a brace at Drug Mart Avon Lake and couldn't. Braces are locked up and only pharmacy has the key and they were closed. It's an over the counter brace not narcotics! Before people start going off saying why I didn't take him to urgent care, he's 20 years old and didn't want to spend $100 for them to say it's a sprain and put a brace on it. Just ludicrous that you can only buy a brace there when the pharmacy is open. Truly bad policy!

My wife and I got to Avon Lake Drugmart at 840pm. Drugmart closes at 9pm. We were notified over the PA system the store closes in 15 minutes. We were by the ice cream coolers and noticed the lights in the coolers were all off. We grabbed two cartons of ice cream Tofts and Breyers. At 850pm they turned the lights off in the store as we were still gonna grab a few things. I thought that was rude. Once home we tried the ice cream and it was real soft and melted. Were the coolers turned off? With lights off. Just overall it was a bad experience and we shop there alot.

So at first it was convenient to move my medication here, but now I wish I never did. From the beginning, I have had issues where medication is never in on time, I have to wait three days or so for anything. Now that the drive thru is down, there are times I am unable to get my meds. It’s getting bad and I’m strongly considering moving them again. My back injury just makes it way to hard to get the medication. I have it two stars because the staff is nice and they do have things when I generally need them, just don’t expect the pharmacy to.

Yesterday was my first experience. Narrow but manageable drive-thru. The system seems outdated with a camera and screen with push buttons. I pulled up and hit the call button. Nothing. Waited exactly 2mins. Figured someone was busy. After 5mins of nothing I pulled away and parked. I called the pharmacy and the lady apologized and said someone will be there to help right away. I pull up again and had a great experience. Very friendly and he did apologize for that happening. I understand it happens. People really need to slow down in the parking lot. Especially the older folks. This is our new pharmacy so for now it's 5 stars. We hope it continues to be a great experience since we need prescriptions once a month.

I have had two occasions in the last month where I have had trouble with paying bill's, resulting in one having to pay a late fee. I can see why this location barely has a 3 star rating, the manager there is a joke. I will now go out of my way to use another location or store.

Don't buy a gift card here. I was gifted a $50 Amazon gift card by a friend and when I went to use it at Amazon the card would not work. Error message stated the authorization code was invalid. I called Amazon who advised me that because the card was purchased at a store and not directly from Amazon I had to return to the point of purchase. I did this yesterday...explained the situation...a manager was called and I was basically told "too bad - it's not their problem"...I cannot return a gift card. I explained I was not trying to return a card but just wanted one that worked. I also had the authorization receipt with me and was told by the manager that the authorization receipt was confirmation that the card was indeed activated and if I had an issue I needed to go back to Amazon. I explained that Amazon told me I had to return to the point of purchase. Long story short I left without a gift card that has any value and now I have to tell my friend that purchased the card for me that he is out $50. DO NOT BUY ANY GIFT CARDS FROM DRUG MART!!!!!!! Perhaps it was counterfeit? When I called Amazon they could not even locate the number of card...it's as if the card never existed. Very, very, very poor customer service. Such a shame in today's day no one wants to be of any assistance or help or make the effort to correct a wrong.

I normally have a good experience at this store. I normally have a drug mart fan, cuz I can get just about anything I need there. But I would be remiss if I didn't note that the pharmacy drive-thru is broken again. It breaks down all the time and for extended periods of time. I am disabled and it's very hard for me to go into the store to pick up my prescriptions. Today I tried to do that when the window was closed yet again, and the store's handicap cart was not charged. Staff should be regularly checking that to make sure that it is charged. So I had to call the pharmacist and have them bring it out to the car, which they thankfully did and I appreciate. But it shouldn't have to come to that. the drive-thru window should work. This one is broken all the time and I'm not exaggerating. I'm to the point now where I'm thinking about taking my business to the Walgreens down the street. I need a working pharmacy drive-thru and this drug Mart just doesn't seem to have it. Fix it already, and probably invest in a new system. Cuz what you have is ancient and clearly not reliable. I'm a good customer and spend a lot of money there -- the prescription I picked up today is a thousand bucks a month alone. And that's just one. Not to mention all the other shopping I do once I'm there if I can get a cart. But the drive-thru's got to get fixed. It's a disservice to all customers to not have that reliable pick up window, but it's especially insulting to disabled people. Please. Do better.
