Friend drove 3 hrs to visit, parked in our empty apartment parking lot to use restroom in my place. We went back out to her car to go eat and Curtis towed the vehicle. We honestly thought it was stolen for how quick it happened. They were sitting across the street poaching vehicles, watching the camera footage back he hustled it on b/c he knows he was being shady. Anyways I call them…Cash only they say, credit card machine broken they say….unpleasant customer service, shady towing, dirty business (interior smells and disorganized). Overall terrible experience and felt dishonest as a business. I don’t make these posts ever but this one felt necessary as they feel the need to shark your car the second you leave it. I feel sorry for door dashers or anyone delivering b/c these snakes will get you.

ridiculous business. i’ve been towed by them twice and the first time they told me around $220-230 and i just got towed today and they’re telling me $140? just think it’s a little weird how price changes suddenly by $100. these people run their business by scamming college students ?

Very sketchy business. I'll admit they had every right to tow me, I was parked illegally. but a lot of people have mentioned how they only take cash and how that's most likely to price gouge broke college students who don't carry cash, because most businesses on campus are cashless. I walked 45 minutes from the Southside of campus only to find out that they were closed and do not take card. I called the number on their door and the person who picked up suggested I use the ATM at the gas station by the freeway exit, and he would arrive at the impound in 15 minutes. So I had to walk another 20 minutes, AND the guy passed me in his truck while I was walking there. We made eye contact, I tried to wave him down, it was pretty obvious who I was. He very easily could have offered a ride but instead he wasted both his time and my own time. They clearly do not have any care for the people they're scamming. He charged over $200 dollars for holding my car for probably less than 4 hours. If you guys are gonna be disgusting business owners, at least install an ATM in your own building so you don't end up waiting an extra 40 minutes for whichever college kid you're scamming to get their cash for you. Seriously avoid these people at all costs.

Tonight i locked my keys in my car, Curtis towing missed my call & called me right back to help me get in my car & i can tell you they are way cheaper than Athens towing & recovery. The guy I spoke to on the phone with tonight was very polite and If I ever need to call a tow place again, it will be Curtis towing.

"Pay your f**king money and get the f**k out" - The owner1st time ever leaving a review in my life. The owner cussed me out inside his store after accusing me of doing something I didn't do. Details below:Went in because my car was towed because I left a parking pass in my center storage area by my cup holders (partially visible) and forgot to hang it from my rear view mirror. When I showed up to pick my car up, I did a full walk around inspection to make sure my car wasn't damaged, then looked in both front windows to see if my parking pass was partially visible, which it was. When I entered the store I asked about the parking pass being partially visible and I was cut off by the owner and was accused of going in my car and moving the pass, which I didn't do. I said, you are lying, I just walked around my vehicle to make sure it wasn't damaged and looked in my windows to see if my parking pass was partially visible (which it was). He then cut me off and yelled "I'm the owner, I'm not a f**king liar, pay your f**king money and get the f**k out". Was shocked by the terrible service and major disrespect from the owner. I never raised my voice or said anything disrespectful to him or his employees originally or in response. I wish I would have recorded the interaction. Figured I should post my experience with the owner of curtis auto repair and towing so others can make educated decisions when looking for car services in the Athens area.

As everyone mentioned, I wish I could give it one star. All Curtis sees you as is a massive paycheck and not a human being. He acted very arrogant and unsympathetic when I went to retrieve my truck, which he charged $138 to tow roughly one mile. This is clearly a very predatory business that acts nothing short of unethically. He claims he doesn't have to follow local municipality laws, and follows PUCU. This was actually true from 2003-2014. However, in the re-written legislation in 2015 and 2017 to Revised Code 4921.25, no law prohibits local municipal regulation, and nothing about the current law prohibits enforcement of municipal authority to license towing operators and set towing fees. Therefor, under Athens city law, he does not have the right to charge more than $50 (Section 7.06.17 of Athens current Municipality). This happened to me last night, and I will be following up by contacting the Better Business Bureau, the managing attorney of OU Student Legal Services, the law director of the city of Athens. Overall, they do not care about the people they affect and shine a negative light on the community

They absolutely KNOW no one at OU has cash and that’s exactly why they ONLy accept cash! Was told it would be 65 to drop my car right there but I didn’t have cash , so it went from 65.00 to 130.00 ! Will tell ya though , they have a hell of a set up, money maker , knowing nowhere at OU takes cash ! wouldn’t call them if my life depended on it !
