Blown away by this place. They take such great care of pets and have a wonderful staff. Nancy Smith is incredible!

This is the worst service I have ever received. My ferret is sick and has not been eating for a week. We go here and she gets an x-ray, but the doctor couldn't even look at it because he didn't know how to read it (what kind of a moron vet doesn't know how to read an x-ray that they have to send it to a lab). He also charged us $457 for an x-ray and antibiotics she won't even take because every time she does she throws it up. The next day in the morning the doctor said that there was nothing on the scan. They recommended force feeding chicken baby food and pedialyte. Which by the way a quick google search can tell you that. I'm going to say that the r/ferret community on Reddit knows more than an actual animal hospital. Finally we started force feeding her food with water in a syringe and she's taking it fine. The vet should have known well that was going to work instead of making us buy baby food, yogurt , and pedialyte. This was the worst service I have ever gotten from any animal clinic. Today they called us and told us they couldn't do anything and that we might as well go to another clinic after robbing us out of $457! They are just trying to rob you of your money. DONT waste your time here.

I am so upset, I am sick to my stomach. I was just charged $190 for the most expensive blood work and fecal lab for my 4 year old cat. Dr. Mark could have done the standard blood work to get the chemical analysis he needed. In the exam room, while I was waiting for him to return, I noticed a ring holding coated pages. I looked at it; it listed the different groups of blood work and fecal exams with the pricing for dogs and cats After he came back in, we agreed she needed blood work to find out what was wrong with my cat. He never showed me the pricing or offered me any choice. I trusted him and just ASSumed that he would do the standard ROUTINE bloodwork. He even charged me for a FECAL test when my cat hasn't eaten any solid food for 5 days. Then, I showed him where I found 2 small growths next to her spine. I couldn't find them when she was standing. After she laid down, I found them because the internal organs lifted them up. I had him look at them, feel them. He tried to tell me that they were LIPOMAS. Lipomas are fatty growths that lay right under the skin. In fact, you can actually see them as lumps on short hairs. These were inside the torso cavity attached to the spine. The worst of it is: I am 64 years old, collect SS less than $900/mo. and I work part time. I already had spent $152 at another vet 2 weeks prior for her reg shots. When she got sick, they refferred me to Amherst because they didn't have any openings for 2 weeks. I only had $300 left on my Care Credit. Dr. Mark used it all up with the $190 lab work. The total bill is $278.90. I was charged for a fecal that never happened and I am pretty confidrmt that he did not do all the extra tests. He just padded the bill and outright robbed me for services not received. I AM filing a complaint against him with the State of Ohio Veterinary Board, BBB, and everywhere else that I can on the internet. I requested a partial refund to no avail. He is just greedy and has no concern or consideration for his 'client's' owners' financial situation. Supposedly the blood work says that my cat has fatty liver and is not breaking down proteins. LOL, he wanted to do a biopsy. I am broke. He took all the remaining money on my Care Credit card for the excessive uneccesary blood work and fecal test that never happened. I can not do any further treatment on my cat. I cried all last night and more after his call this morning 7/ 31/20. STAY AWAY..DO NOT GO HERE. THERE ARE PLENTY OF OTHER VETS IN THE AREA. Dr. Mark is an unconscionable thief. Just as if he robbed me at gun point. I do not know what the next step is to help my cat. I just don't know what to do. I am so grieved and upset. I have letters and phone calls to make to the State of Ohio and BBB...and whatever else I can find.

My family has been bringing our pets here for almost twenty years. This is the best place for animals and their humans. We wouldn't go anywhere else.

Wow!!! Beth H., you have a lot of nerve! People shouldn't leave bad reviews?? Ruin this doctor's GOOD name??? Is this a joke or do you work for Dr. Kristin? She is exactly like the reviewers described but they forgot to say a wrinkled (clothes) mess and needs to button up that top! You feel bad that she is pooped and peed on all day. Boo hoo..I was pooped and peed on by my dogs and kids for FREE. I don't complain, they are worth it. Her bank account can console her. I'm glad you got out of the animal care business and Dr. Kristin should do the same. I will leave it at that because I could go on and on. I just read replies from "owner" to the negative reviews. I'm not surprised to see they put a spin on it, are rude and ask for the review to be taken off. One reply actually gave the patients name and condition when the reviewer didn't list names , condition or any info like that. That's low and shameful. Trying to save their rep? Well, that makes them look...well...as described by reviewers. Another "owner" reply was to a reviewer giving a negative review lately for 10 years ago. "Owner" asks why negative review years later. Uh, because! That's why. So unprofessional. (Take notice of these things people. You will see their main priority is themselves and their bottom line, not your pets) My furry family member was a patient of theirs years ago. I regret ever stepping foot in that place. I will not tell our story here for the "owner" to thoughtlessly make juvenile comments. To those who think this place has a caring staff and quality care, go see Dr. Kris Taylor. To those looking for a caring staff and quality care, go see Kris Taylor.

They killed my dog too. I paid for the extra testing to be sure that he could handle the anesthesia and still received a call that my puppy had "expired." I can't believe this so-called vet is still practicing. DO NOT take your animal here!

I had the worst experiance of my life I would never recomend anyone to this animal hospital!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I took my dog here for bladder stone surgery and a torn acl .they botched my dogs bladder surgery and did not do the acl surgery and nearly killed my dog.the following day we picked our dog up and Dr.Mark Gigliotti drug our dog out on a blanket and coacst him to stand and when he did his disper slipped off and blood was running down his leg and my husband asked if he was bleeding internally he said no thats normal for the procedure that was done and the bleeding should stop in a few days.later that day the dr. called me to check on my dogs progress i told him he was not doing well later that evening i called him to express my concern for the amount of blood my dog was loosing and that when he urinated it looked to me like he was peeing from two places and he said thats strange and i told him that he looked half dead.he told me to look at my dogs gums and i told him they where white he said i needed to take him to an emergency hospital right away so i took him to northveiw animal hospital they said that what Dr.Mark Gigliotti did to my dog was a little extreme they cleaned him up and sent us home we then went back to Amherst animal hospital and they said he needs a blood transfusion and they dont do those they reffered us to another hospital who told us that they did a really bad job on your dog and he needs mofe than a blood transfusion he needs exploritory surgery to find the bleeding and stop it.Its a mirical he even survivedI think that Dr.Mark Gigliotti is really a butcher pising as a vet and the other vet there she dresses like she is going to have lunch at tiffany's not work in a vet office heaven forbid if she got blood or pee or dog hair on her dress my dog was bleeding to death and she wanted to know where the diapers where that they gave me the other day.we asked her why or where was the bleeding coming from she said im not really sure i said well aint it your job to know anyhow if you reslly care about your pet do not go to amherst animal hospital!
