First off I would like to thank all the staff that were working today I took my beloved daughter in. It was such an emergency. They were great treating her. They took her right away. Unfortunately we had to say our goodbyes to her that day, but the staff here is amazing how they treat you when you're there. I can't say enough about what they did for my family. I would highly recommend them if you need emergency care for your furry family member. Again, thank you to the staff for everything you did

The veterinarian we seen immediately started pushing expensive testing instead treating my dog's systematic issues, even after I explained to her he is known to immune issues, GI issues, and low pain tolerance. I also explained my younger dog had the same exact illness 2 weeks prior. She still insisted that my dog has a blockage when I know he doesn't. We also waited EIGHT HOURS for him to be seen. I've always used Metropolitan but was recommended to you by family, I'll stick with Metro from here on out.

Why call yourself an emergency vet if you have to wait 7 hours before anyone talks to you? Wouldn't recommend this place. Go to a true emergency vet that DOESN'T have appts that take priority over you.

Took 4 hours for my cat to “be worked in” to see the neurologist as he is drastically declining and having seizures that they aren’t doing anything for. Still no answers on hour 7 and the dog next room over gets in and 20 minutes later goes to see the neurologist right after the dr leaves.. this place is slow and horrible and the rooms are dirty and smell like pee.

Every time I've had to take my cats to Medvet, the experience has been great. It's nice knowing that they are open to help 24/7. I've had to take my cats through the emergency room 3 times now and the first visit my cat Nugget had to stay overnight to see an internal medicine specialist the following morning. That doctor gave Nugget a diagnosis within hours when my regular vet was unable to diagnose him for months. That vet is the reason Nugget is still alive today! I hope I never have to return to Medvet but if I do, I know my kitties are in great hands!

Have been to MedVets several times. The doctors and staff are very knowledgeable, compassionate, and caring. They go beyond in every aspect of their care for the animals and their families.

I brought in my 8 month old kitten with kidney failure. It was a time sensitive matter, and they refused to see him until I handed them a credit card, even though he required immediate attention. "Emergency" is not a word taken seriously here. They also refused the diagnosis provided by his home vet and required us to pay ahead for the exact same tests I had the results for in my hands. I'll never know if the time I lost due to MedVets lack of care could have saved him, but it's possible. Nearly $5000 later, I'm sure ownership is happy.

I was told my dog has cancer which would need to be treated with seizure meds and then monitored because they could crash his blood count. They then sent their excessive $600 bill without a single bit of treatment.
The reality is a decent vet, who actually does tests in front of you instead of taking your pet to a back room without you, figured out almost immediately my dog was diabetic and in desperate need of insulin; He did not and does not have any kind of cancer.
My vet (was closed the day he got sick) didn't actually supply insulin but was able to get it for me on Christmas Eve since no one else was open and it cost less than$100 for 2 visits and insulin.
This "MedVet" is a scam. They were just trying to rack up tests and expenses AND managed to not do the only test he needed while confidently give me fake results. They let my dog suffer for profit and smiled while they did. Your pets deserve better; there are several real vets within minutes of this building.

I'm writing this review more from a business perspective so that I can attempt to take out all the negative emotions from my recent visit. Firstly, if your animal doesn't have VISIBLE signs of trauma, DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMAL HERE. My mother's dog had not eaten in 2 days and was somewhat lethargic and throwing up. Unfortunately, it fell on a weekend and had no choice but to go here. Since the dog's issues were internal, we didn't know how "urgent" her condition was, but just because her injuries weren't visible, doesn't mean the matter wasn't urgent. MY 83-YEAR-OLD MOTHER AND I WAITED FOR 4.5 HOURS as animal after animal came in and because their trauma was visible, they were moved to the head of line over and over and over again. WE WERE NEVER SEEN BY THE VET because my mother and I couldn't take what felt like a prison for that long anymore. Here’s the only good I can say about the visit: The techs were WONDERFUL PEOPLE. Caring and professional. Oh, and they had coffee and vending machines as well. That's the experience.
Now here's how they can fix this. It's a business. You have HUMAN customers (not the animals) that are paying you very lofty money to fix their pets. With customers, you strive for customer service which encompasses many things, but timeliness is at the top of the list for every business because EVERYONE IS BUSY if nothing else but to just make ends meet. 4.5 hours without being seen (and there were many others there longer) is abhorrent customer service regardless of the spin you want to place on the triage process. The solution: MORE VETS. My take is that the business owners couldn't care less about customer service because they hold you hostage, preying on your love for your pet. Speedy service is irrelevant to them because you'll stay as long as it takes to help your animal. The business has been operating for many years and the data they have about how many animals arrive at the hospital on any given day is more than likely spot on so having multiple vets on staff for those busier days is good business and great customer service. For the rates they charge, I can't see any reason why there wasn't three or more vets working, when there was ONLY ONE. Bottom line, I'll never go back to that facility even if every other option is twice as far or more to travel, should I ever need emergency pet care in the future.

I recently got out of vet med, and with my experience the staff here are very efficient and compassionate. Took great care of my pup that’s riddled with anxiety, and they take care of us too in the lounge with a vending machine, drinks, TV, and a charging station.

The facility and all staff were beyond excellent and compassionate. Went up and beyond to care for my injured animal. Highly recommend if in need of emergency care.

When we first got there, there was hardly anyone in the waiting room. After FOUR hours of waiting, and no answers, we left. It was a terrible experience. We will never use MedVet again. After a difficult night, we went to VCA on Richmond Rd and in less than 45 minutes she has been assessed and having an exam with the Vet. What a difference between MedVet and VCA.

The staff was so friendly and kind. I had to put down a family pet and they were compassionate and caring. We were able to be with our pet during the process as well. Highly recommend and am very thankful for all the staff.

Our small dog was experiencing a medical emergency on a Sunday morning, which of course is terrible timing when no vet office or emergency vet in your area is open. Thank goodness for MedVet in Akron since they were the closest 24 hour facility to us. They were caring and efficient and the location is very easily accessible. Even though it’s a 1.5 hour drive for us, if we ever have another pet medical emergency after hours we will not hesitate to pack the fur kids in the car and head to this location.
