**Do Not Waste Your Time**
I had a very disappointing experience at this Hertz location on Britain Rd in Akron. Despite making a reservation three hours in advance and traveling over an hour to get there, I was met with a series of unhelpful excuses.
First, they claimed they couldn't rent out a car because it didn't have a license plate, even though the car clearly had one. Then, they said another car was unavailable because it was missing a bolt for the license plate cover.
It was evident that they were mismanaging their rentals and possibly overbooking cars. The staff showed no eagerness to help, making the whole ordeal frustrating and a waste of time.

Worst experience ever. Zero stars I wish I could give. I'll neve rent from Hertz again. I was given a car with severe mechanical issues. When I hit the freeway and upon acceleration the rear wheel passenger side wheel made a horrendous loud noise that got even louder as I accelerated. Wheel bearings were going out and could've caused me to be in a serious accident. I immediately called the Hertz Brittain Rd office and was told they were closing and no other cars were available. I called roadside assistance who told me to take it 50 min away to the next nearest Hertz. The car was swapped out I asked for a refund as I was delayed going to my destination by over an hour. They said to call the Brittain Rd Office the next dayvthey were open. I called Monday at 8 am when they opened and was told no refund coukd be issued as they closed out my rental at 7:30 am. DM doesn't reply to email, Corporate emails back just that they're looking into it. That was a month ago. Still no resolve or refund. You can't get a live person on their 800 number, etc. Marcus the Mgr was no help, Asst. Mgr. Gail is rude and unprofessional and told me to shut the hell up as I was put on hold. Upon returning I told her I heard what she said, she said she was saying that as the phones were ringing off the hook. Bottom line, don't rent from this store or any Hertz Stores. They don't do safety checks on their vehicles. This is just half of my story on the bad customer service at this location.??

If I could give 1/2 star I would. Worst experience with GAIL! Made a reservation for 11am but decided to go in 30 minutes early. There was one customer ahead of me so i waited patiently and about 11:30, I was finally up. Told her about my reservation and she asked if I could wait till 12 to see if other customers show up for their reservation because they didn't have any vehicles available. Remember I made a reservation and I already waited 45 minutes...... 30 minutes past my reservation time and now you're telling me "hertz Gold member" that my reservation means nothing even though the lot was full of rental cars. I politely told her no, I do not want to wait an additional 30 minutes so I asked her to cancel my reservation and she claim she didn't see it in system to cancel and that I need to call 1-800 # for cancellation. Now I had to try and make another reservation with a different company at 11:30 on a Saturday, while waiting on hold 35 minutes to cancel a reservation or be charged for the price of my 1 week rental that Gail said they most likely were not going to have a vehicle to rent to me in the first place. This is ludacris! I would have been charge for not canceling but they didn't even have a car to honor my reservation. Make it make sense Gail!

Gail helped me with my reservation. Somehow, she had a brand new Hyundai Elantra with my name on it. Easy checking out and even easier bringing it back. Couldn't have been a better experience.

Ordered online and picked up at a time convenient to me. Staff was knowledgeable and very friendly. If you’re from the area and in need of a rental car I highly recommend this Hertz location.

Worse experience ever. Will definitely go back to enterprise for my car rental needs. This rental agency has the most ignorant rules for renting a car with them. A $400 fee if they find animal hair! No way

If I could give zero stars, I would. Don’t bother making a reservation. I planned a reservation a month prior to my trip, went to pick up the rental vehicle and was told they could not do anything for me as they had just closed at 12pm. However, according to my reservation I was supposed to pick it up at 12pm. So, if I’m supposed to pick up the vehicle when you’re closing, how am I ever supposed to get the vehicle? The manager was not helpful, however he did give me a paper to call and get my $450 refunded after telling me they had given the last car away at 11:30am. So, they had given the last vehicle away prior to my reservation time. Even if I had showed up before closing, I still wouldn’t have been able to get my vehicle. This is a joke of a company and I would not recommend anyone going here and/or making a reservation. Thank you Hertz for making what was supposed to be the easiest part of my vacation preparations into the hardest. You’re awesome! :)
