Ok so I've been here a handful of times now and live very close. While the food is good (the tacos are outstanding), it doesn't dazzle me. The pozole is outstanding don't get me wrong, but what legitimate Mexican place serves lettuce with pozole rather than cabbage?? I mean maybe people like wilted lettuce but I'm not one of them lol. Also, you need radishes. Growing up in Southern California I can say I've eaten authentic pozole more times than I can count, and you can't have it without cabbage! If I come back I'll seriously bring my own stash that is how vital it is to the dish IMHO. The server is nice and the service is fine. Also, they just opened a bar next door which I haven't been to but I heard they have a DJ on Saturday nights.

I love the menudo, which is oddly difficult to find around this area. This place never disappoints!

Never again. Portions were extremely small. The food was bland and the salsa was extra runny. Chips were burnt also.... Just a waste of $45

Best fresh salsa. Always happy we went. Carry out excellent enchiladas chimichangas burritos and of course margaritas. Management always friendly and makes you feel welcome. Well worth it.

Got the Mexican tacos(3), horchata and margarita. All were yummy. Wait staff is always super friendly. Won't be long before I visit again.

We've been going to Ranchero's for years, and it has been a family favorite for us. However, the last two visits, it seems the quality of the food has really taken a downturn. I almost always order the tacos al pastor, but this last time they were really disappointing. Salty, way more onions than meat, and no discernible pineapple flavor. The refried beans were very watery. They didn't have most of the desserts available that were listed on the menu. The service was attentive and friendly, and the salsa was delicious. We will probably give them a few more chances and then move on to other Mexican restaurants if the quality of the food doesn't return to previous levels.

While I believe they have the best enchiladas in town, the staffing is very unimpressive. I can look them dead in the eye, tell them I want a dinner combination (which comes with rice) and also a side of rice and they will completely assume I mean the rice that is in the combination. One time the chef didn't even put rice in the dinner combination and it clearly says it on the menu. It's usually wrong in some way. The staff doesn't know the menu well enough. If you have it delivered good luck on getting the right thing. but I always go back though l. why? because I'm not lying the enchiladas are the best in town.

I just had some of the best burritos and tacos I've had in a long long time. Very authentic, Mexican flavors. It's not a fancy place by any stretch but who cares, the place is clean and the food was perfect! The food here is very authentic and the prices are very reasonable. Add to that, the host and especially the waiter were very attentive. Great food and great service! What more could you want! I'll definitely be back!

Do not judge a book from it's cover was one review I read and how right it was. Don't expect much ambiance but the food was amazing. Tried it for lunch today on a suggestion from my son and his friends. Chips and salsa served with chips nicely seasoned with Tajin seasoning and served with both a mild and spicy salsa. We had a tough time not filling up on these alone. We ordered Mexican Tacos. My son got steak tacos that were simply but well seasoned steak and sautéed onions topped with fresh cilantro. I ordered the tripe Mexican tacos that has fresh diced onions and cilantro. The tripe was was tender and well seasoned. I convinced my son to just try it and he was amazed by the flavor. Both served with fresh lime to squeeze for a nice acid balance. Just a shame we were so full not to try more. Service was efficient and friendly and refilled sodas and salsa. We will be back for sure.

I'm shocked this place has such high reviews. First impression walking in was meh. Host not the friendliest. My boyfriend asked for water and she filled his glass never asked me what I wanted or brought me water...I had to ask for some water after our order was put in. The chips served were stale and the queso dip and salsa lacked flavor. I ordered the beef burrito and beef enchilada. The meat was super sweet like eating sugar which was off putting to say the least. After two bites we couldn't eat anymore...the beans were very soupy and they only give you a tiny portion of rice. There was a little boy who seemed cute at first but he kept interrupting a family that was trying to eat their meal. He came up to them with a table knife talking and then was standing on the booth seat behind them leaning over with a cell phone trying to have them watch something. The lady was trying her best to ignore him and the host never said anything to him. Very unprofessional. We left very unsatisfied and drove to Azteca where we had a wonderful meal, bigger portions and cheaper.

I've lived in San Antonio and this place reminds me of a hole-in-wall place in Southtown or one of the city neighborhoods like the North Hill neighborhood in Akron where it's located. Along with traditional tacos and other Mexican fare Ohioans love, they have posole, menudo, mole, carnitas and much more. Mild and hot salsa and excellent flour tortillas served warm in foil. It may not be 5 stars in San Antonio, but it sure stands out from most of the Americanized Mexican restaurants in Akron.

There is nothing better than Dave's Pork Mexican tacos, beans, rice, hot salsa, chips, and Horchata. If you haven't had this blessed combination you better got get you some!

I am truly shocked this place has such good reviews. I went today for lunch on the basis of these reviews. I went around 12:30 on a Friday and was the only one in the entire restaurant which should have been a giant red flag. It honestly makes me question the legitimacy of the other reviews. Anyway, I had the steak grande burrito. Had some chips and salsa while I waited which were both only OK. The burrito itself was just bland. It tasted like it was made of very cheap and low quality ingredients. The rice and beans were equally unimpressive. And it cost $12 before the tip! The whole point of a hole in the wall is that you compromise on the aesthetics of a restaurant in order to focus on the quality of the ingdient. Here, the restaurant missed on both fronts. It is both overpriced and underwhelming. La Loma in Akron is superior in every way for half the price. The Mexican food I have had in California and Texas makes this place seem like they have no idea what authentic, quality food should taste like. I simply don't understand how this place is so praised on Yelp.
