My wife and I recently stayed there for 2 days and.must say it is a very clean property the rooms are very comfortable and very spacious. Staff go.out of their way to help you no matter the need. you are a short 10 minute walk to the famous Red Shoe Pub where the staff are so helpful and the entertainment will blow you away. Did I mentiion that Dave the owner of the Mabou River Inn cooks an amazing breakfast. Thanks for the classy mini holiday

You will never find a better place to stay!! The rooms were spotless, bright and spacious. Check in was a breeze and location was perfect. But the absolute best thing about the Mabou River Inn were the people who owned and ran this place. They go above and beyond for their guests. They even gave us gloves for our morning bike ride!! Wonderful people and to top it all off the breakfast was delicious with homemade bread, bacon, eggs and all the fixings!!!

Our room was very spacious and clean. The staff at check-in and breakfast were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The location is perfect - easy to get to by car, yet walkable to the Red Shoe Pub. Breakfast was served to each table, a nice change from the usual buffet-style breakfast you get nowadays. The bed was very soft compared to what we are used to. The wifi was not that great in our room, so I just used data (not a big deal).

Clean, well appointed, great service and a fabulous nights sleep. Plus a delicious cooked breakfast. The village is amazing... just missed going to the red boot pub. Regret that.

Front desk was incredibly informative and friendly. Easy check-in and called us in advance to make sure we were aware of the late check-in policy.
Big shout out to William.
Room was clean and newly renovated, beds super comfy. We had a bathroom across the hall with so many amenities, plus there's a social gaming room to hangout.
Free breakfast included.
10/10 will be staying here again

Stayed here July 19-21 with friends in a 2 bedroom suite. Absolutely great room with lots of space. Spotless and well maintained and decorated. You don't see a spot of garbage anywhere at the inn. Breakfast was a simple eggs w/bacon or sausage or french toast. I think you could get cereal as well. Toast was made from homemade bread and I highly recommend the porridge bread YUM! An easy walk from the Red Shoe Pub and great location to go to the beach, Inverness, Glenora Distillery or exploring the backroads looking for graveyards, churches and Mull River. Highly recommend the Mabou River Inn; you won't be disappointed. Owners Dave and Donna look after you :-)
Food and drinks: Red Shoe Pub is walking distance - great food, music and Cape Breton hospitality.

First Off...Mabou River Inn is deserving of 10 stars in every possible way!! With that being said
Mabou River Inn ( MRI) has been our home away from home for the last 7 or 8 years while we come to Cape Breton for Kitchen Fest and on the odd occasion for Celtic Colors. David and Donna are the very best and along with their staff, Crystal, Keith and Janette, they make MRI feel like coming home. From the peaceful feeling of driving into the parking lot and being greeted by Hunter and Winnie..two very friendly dogs or as we call them..ambassadors for MRI and then settling into either your individual room or 1 of the 3 apartments that MRI features, you too will feel at home. Then, you can make your way to the Red Shoe Pub for an evening of good food and local entertainment that will have your toes tapping.
Then..waking up and going to breakfast that Dave cooks and Donna is greeting you and letting you know what is on the breakfast menu, you will be looked after by Crystal or Donna and fed a delicious breakfast of your choice of eggs, bacon, sausages, French toast along with your choice of home made bread ( I highly recommend the porridge bread!!!).
To say that the MRI is the place to stay, does not do it justice! You will have to book your stay and then, you will realize what I have tried to explain in this review !!
