We had a road trip planned for the weekend, but we noticed the shock went on the car on a Thursday, left it there on Friday hoping that they’d have a cancellation or something, and they fit us in to replace both shocks, amazing service

Got charged way over what I was quoted. I am very familiar with mechanics and these guys are trying to get any money they can out of you. Oh and best part, the simple thing they fixed didn’t even get fixed properly and I had to come back, and still not fully fixed. Not impressed.

I been going to Settles for years to service my 2003 honda accord and 2003 chevy tracker. I had them do more work here then I can list. I am always very impressed with the attention to detail. I am fussy and this shop take great care in each repair and maintenance job. I would never consider going to another shop. Settles is cut from a different cloth and I trust this shop above and beyond anywhere else I have gone in the past. As for price they do not charge much in my opinion. For my tracker some parts are near impossible to get so they let me bring my own parts for that truck. A very easy shop to get along with. You can count on these guys 100%.Services: Transmission

I've been struggling to find an honest mechanic in Halifax. The four I've been to so far have broken my truck more than fixed it each time. But after one interaction with Settles I thought I had finally found my mechanic! They replaced my front exhaust pipe, showed me the work, did in a timely manner... It was excellent! Then I returned for my MVI 3 months later. FYI My truck is exceptionally well maintained, but they said it needed all new suspension components everywhere to pass. Ok, a bit surprising but no worries. I asked for a quote and was set to go ahead with it provided it was reasonable. But I had to hassle them for three weeks after the actual inspection to get a stinking quote! Then, they quoted me $2500 for parts and labour. Insanity since I was able to find all the parts myself for $300 and I would have done the work myself within 3 hours. So I take it to a second shop for a second opinion. IT PASSES WITH A ONLY A SMALL WINDSHIELD CHIP NEEDING REPAIR!!!! Can you spell scam? Avoid them like the plague. Mechanics are nice, owners are scam artists.
