Margaret and James have been a staple in our family, recommended by our best friends, about 15 years ago. We've never had any worries when renewal comes up, even this one, during these unprecedented covid times. We just renewed back in October 2022 with a rate not higher than our last!!! We wouldn't have a mortgage if we couldn't have James and Margaret to walk beside us. Always recommended!!

I am a first time home buyer and they completely set me back 8 months. They didn't ask the appropriate questions of the bank. I was reassessed a couple of times by them and they kept coming back with near the same mortgaging amount I could afford. I put an offer in on a house and then was told I could only purchase something that was over 30,000 lower, I lost the offer on the house because I NOW couldn't afford it and then basically blamed me for putting an offer in on a house that was suppose to be in my price range. They said the reason was simply because of a question that "if you don't ask the banks, you will not know". Well, that is YOUR JOB. Ask the appropriate questions, therefore, getting appropriate information. Then, assumed I would just ask family members if they could help out. I told them right from the beginning, if I couldn't buy a house on my own, I didn't want to bother. Will never go back and pulled any recommendations I gave out. So very unhappy. Now I am right back to the beginning, looking for a mortgage broker who knows what they are doing and finding a real estate agent that was not recommended by them. In response to their response. I did have the right company. I don't use my legal name on any social media, so if you don't remember my face, since I was recommended to you by a family member who used your company, that is another point against you.

The best people you could ask for to guide you through your mortgage process. I was in a tight spot needing to move in a short time, trying to get everything done over the holidays and some other added complications along the way but Margaret and James managed to pull everything together in time while still taking the time to explain everything as we went as I was a first time buyer. They're patient, professional and easy to work with but more importantly they're good people who actually care you. I can’t thank them enough and would highly recommend them.

To make a long story short, James got the mortgage done for us. This mortgage company came from a recommendation from our Nova Scotia real estate representative. James returned our phone call and said he could represent us and get a competitive mortgage rate with their contacts.After a lengthy Zoom call introduction, James went through the information that was required to apply for the mortgage and was satisfied that we would have no problem for the amount we required.Through the course of 40 days until sale closing , he requested and we provided the financial documents. However, some information we sent was like he never got or read it and asked for it again. We became frustrated that James was not working quickly to get the Mortgage settled with the money lender.The mortgage contract could not be fully completed by his preferred Nova Scotia lawyer ( we got a $100.00 discount thankyou ) and 10 days before closing we hired a Ontario lawyer to sign the paperwork .We were out of province buyers and there was certain notary signatures required. James did not inform us of these requirements. Then 3 days before closing we were advised that the Nova Scotia lawyer could not perform a title searchon our free and clear Ontario home. Again we contacted our very busy Ontario lawyer to request the information and get it returned in time as not to influence the closing date. It was our first mortgage so things were stressful til the final approval was signed. Later note. Sorry the MM are listed in the Top 5 Mortgage Brokers in Nova Scotia.

Was great service and friendly at the beginning. Very knowledgeable and helpful. However after a while, the replies got fewer and more unresponsive. After about 6 months, they just stopped completely. Would recommend if you are buying property within a month or two of talking to them, but other than that, deal with someone else. Was very disappointed.

I wanted to write a review regarding the very poor unresponsive customer service we received from James, the owner. He was very responsive in the beginning of our inquiry on obtaining a Mortgage. My husband and I had a very long informative Zoom meeting with him. We walked away with items to work on and what we needed to get get done. After this- He was completely unresponsive. He was so unresponsive that now I hope and wonder if he is ok, health wise. If not, I apologize for the poor review. I feel like because we were not 100% ready to get a Mortgage at that time, he put us on the very back burner and we were no longer important. I would text him questions and he would not respond. We had a great opportunity to purchase and we missed out on it because of his lack of communication. Finally after messaging him for weeks with no response I thanked him for his previous help (months before) and told him we had to move on to a different broker. And again, no response. No sorry, no thank you. I very HIGHLY do not recommend this Mortgage broker. UNLESS there is a lot of money in it for him- which is the way he made us feel- he will not attend to you. I really do not like leaving bad reviews. I gave it some time for him to respond. But it's been well over a month and nothing, not so much as a sorry. I see all of the great reviews and I'm just d*** founded at the lack of communication and seriousness he had with us. I really hope that others have a different experience

We have gotten two mortgages through James and Margaret and will continue to do so in the future. Amazing customer service and very knowledgeable. Made the entire process as smooth as possible and got us a very low interest rate. Answered every question we had quite clearly as well, I am definitely more knowledgeable about mortgages and the home buying process after dealing with them.

My partner and I had visited our bank and weren't happy with the service there. We went to Mortgage Managers and we were really glad we did. They listened to our concerns, explained everything clearly and helped us get the mortgage we wanted. We are first time home buyers and are now in our new home. We're really happy with the service we received from James and Margaret!
