Always a pleasure ( hehe) to shop at this store, the staff are very welcoming and do their most best to make everyone comfortable, they are also very knowledgeable on every product and never hesitate to help you with anything. I forget the name of the employee, but when my friends and i dropped in and asked a question about a product, the employee gave us like a ten minute educational explanation about the product and answered every question. We left the store happy and refreshed to receive such exceptional customer service.

Me and my teenagers loved this store. Great discovery!! As soon as we got home, we felt at ease. The store is welcoming and well laid out. The service is responsive and attentive. He answered all our questions and took the time to research if information was missing. I was able to find the ideal books to help me develop with my trans teenager and also books adapted for younger children. Thanks xx

I'm from out of town and I didn't understand why my girlfriend was so excited about getting to visit this particular shop with me, until I joined her. You can tell that their main goal is to make everyone feel like they can enhance their sex lives and feel comfortable in their own skin. The care that is put into this shop shows. We got some really good advice and the trip was money very well spent.

My girlfriend and I went for the adult stuff, and will return for the books (well, and what we went for originally, too). Great selection all around and friendly, helpful, and entertaining staff. Highly recommend to any LGBTQ+ people looking for books, sex supplies, or random cool merch.

Such friendly and knowledgeable staff who are inclusive and non-judgmental. I couldn't feel more comfortable browsing around and felt open to ask any questions if I had any. Also amazing selection of queer books, and so good to see queer books for children as well! The selection of gender affirming items was awesome to see. Great to see small businesses merchandise too!! Will definitely stop by again!

I got my first tarot deck from here on my vacation to Halifax and the staff were so friendly. The girl that works there even gave me a reading as well as my spouse. I had a very meaningful experience speaking with her and exploring the shop. So many interesting books too! I was so overwhelmed with choices. I will visit their location in Ottawa. I recommend visiting if you're in Halifax.

such an affirming spot!!i first came in august to purchase my younger sibling a chest binder with my father as an early birthday present. there were a lot of pins, zines, patches and much more to affirm the disabled community, (mostly autistics, which i am.) the lgbtq+ community and much more. i walked in and immediately felt safe. if i ever come up to halifax again, i will definitely visit.

Amazing store, so much selection and I love that they really normalize the stereotypical “sex shop” so much to look at and many educational materials too. Despite some confusion with our purchase, Raven was so helpful with our refund! They took the time to help us out?️?

Not a huge bookshop but its the best selection of queer books all in one spot I've ever seen. The staff are very helpful with zero judgement. Can't be beat for the experience of buying sex toys. They are informative and non-judgmental. Only caveat is that almost everything in there is over 15$, most over 30$.

Coming in this store made my day. Like a breath of fresh air. Every single one of the employees were so friendly and helpful, not judgemental in the slightest. They all showed and explained everything and i ended up finding something i liked. Great store, great people would recommend. Definitely will take another trip back.

Wow. Incredible spot.I came out to a close friend as trans masculine, and they brought me to Venus Envy to get my (first ever) binder! My friend also doesn't fully align with female traits so we got ours together.The service in this adorable nook of a shop was so amazing, special shout out to Ry for helping us get set up with sizing and everything and being such an incredible help. They truly made the store feel like such a safe space to be, and they also gave me all sorts of information about transitioning and where to go regarding that stuff.Me and my friend are under 18, so we only looked around the front part of the store, but looking around they had so many available resources for transgender people (youth specifically) which has proven difficult to find here in NS. They have a wide selection of books created by and for queer people, and I'm so thankful that we found a spot that is so judgement free!All in all, if you're queer and haven't visited Venus Envy yet, it's a must-go. They even have some of the cutest enamel pride pins I've ever seen, which is an added bonus.It's a 10/10 for me!
