We stayed one night to enjoy the Evergreen celebrations on the waterfront. The hotel room exceeded our expectations. The bed was comfortable and had a great sleep. Staff were helpful and courteous. Would highly recommend the Westin.Rooms: Our room was excellent. Clean, comfy bed and slept great, air-conditioning quiet and maintained the room temperature, loved the shower and little extras.Nearby activities: We went to the Evergreen Festival celebrations, lots to see and do. We enjoyed supper at a waterfront restaurant. Stopped for a nightcap at a local pub.So much to see and do, lots of Christmas lights and music.Safety: We felt safe walking from the hotel to the Evergreen Festivities on the waterfront. We traveled around and up to Barrington St. Felt comfortable walking.Walkability: Had no issues walking along the waterfront and downtown HalifaxFood & drinks: We went to happy hour for a drink Friday night. Reasonable cost and great service. Had breakfast in the morning, delicious and our server provided excellent service

Staff and location is really good but unfortunately the rooms are outdated. Especially the toilets where flushing would cause anything to pop over seat then down. Netflix not available to sign in either. Mattress aren't comfortable.

We stayed here for 5 days and this hotel is amazing! The guest room was perfectly clean and neat. Staff working here is very friendly and professional. These guys made our stay and our dining experience is 5-star one.In terms of location, the hotel is conveniently located near the waterfront where you can have easy access to different attractions. The harbor view from our guest room was breathtaking. You can also find a huge supermarket and a gas station just 1-min walking distance away from the hotel.

The staffs from this hotel were all friendly and nice! The room was super clean and the view was amazing. You could see the crew ship and the nice ocean view from the room. The facility was also really clean. Located at the really convenient spot where there’s a grocery store beside the hotel. Overall, you must at least stay here once!

I love, love, love this hotel. The rooms are lovely, the only reason I knocked it down one star is only because the tub could use a bit of an update, everything else in the room is absolutely lovely. If I could rate service a 6 or an 8 out of five I would, the service here across the board is top notch. The location is also lovely...right on the start of the Halifax Waterfront so its easy to walk everywhere.Nearby activities: Right by the Halifax Waterfront and the Pier market!Food & drinks: Great drinks at the hotel bar, and tons of restaurant options within a 5 minute walk (or less!).

Really enjoyed staying here for business. I had been forewarned that the hotel is a bit dated and in need of renovations, but I didn’t find that to be true. Sure, the rooms are on the smaller side and the bathrooms are very small, but the beds were fantastic and everything else excellent as well. The breakfast buffet was beyond expectations. I will be staying here for all future trips to Halifax. They offer a car service to the airport for a flat rate ($65 when I stayed) that just needs to be booked an hour or more in advance. It was perfect. Takes AmEx and prints receipts too.

Not as fresh as I'd like to see in 4* hotel, but it's understandable: it's seating in one of the busiest sports of Halifax - the seaport, and it's not a new building. However, when you compare with other 4* Canadian hotels (considering that overall hotels suck in Canada) - Westin Halifax is a decent choice and it offers a decent service.

Great location overlooking port (I’m not a cruise fan so the harbour view was spoiled by gargantuan ships). Modern amenities, although room and hallway often smelled of smoke (strange for a non smoking hotel??). The bathroom was oddly proportioned: very low toilet tucked next to a high sink/vanity. Could have benefited from a towel rack somewhere to hang used towels. Buffet breakfast was decent; omelette was the only item that tasted fresh amongst the typical buffet options which were room temperature and meh.Nearby activities: Pier 21 museum, restaurants, harbour areaWalkability: Convenient access to all that the Halifax harbour has to offer.

The Westin is a great option if you are staying in halifax. It is walking distance from many restaurants, attractions, etc. As someone fascinated with anything nautical, I love the great view of the cruise ships too. The hotel has alot of history which makes it interesting. The rooms are comfy and very clean, as well.I will note, I feel the hotel seems confused as to which market it wants to serve - average income earners or the wealthy. It is very pricey; valet parking is offered; regular parking is an additional charge; breakfast is also an additional charge; and the hallways and lobby are all elegant. This makes it seem like a fancy place for the wealthiest of people. However, when you step into the room, it's simply an average hotel room.A couple negatives: the wallpaper in the bathroom (room 534) was peeling, the water in the swimming pool was so cloudy you couldn't clearly see the bottom (this wasn't the case the second time we visited the pool), and the art throughout the hotel was very uninspiring (which really isn't a big deal; I just thought it was worth noting).Overall, I enjoy my stay at the Westin and will likly be back in the future. However, due to the price it won't be our usual place to stay in Halifax.

Would not recommend unless you are deaf...got a noise complaint for respectful talking at a low level... overpriced rates do not reflect the quality that would be expected.. big tvs do not compensate for the low quality over inflated services provided.... shhhh talking is not tolerated... and also shhhh paper thin walls... no talking please... was that a pin dropping?? Noise complaint!!!!!

This place is getting very tired for a western hotel, it is due for upgrades. Also, they said they’re gonna shut the water off at 9 AM on our departing day which is bad enough, but then they shut it off seven minutes early.

Our room was beautiful, comfortable and quiet. Actually, the heating/AC was the quietest we have ever experienced in a hotel room! The bed was incredibly comfortable and the view amazing. I was less than impressed with the food/coffee at the Sea Port Social, which I attended for breakfast. I ordered off the menu (not the buffet) so I can't speak to the quality of that. Your service staff was friendly, efficient and kind.Nearby activities: The Sea Port Farmers Market was originally just across the road from this location, but has sadly been moved further away (and quite a hike carrying a load of fresh veg!)Walkability: The shops and restaurants are quite close on the wharf.

Great hotel and all Marriotts are. We stayed on points and had the same level of service you would get paying full fare. It was a beautiful hotel. Highly recommended.
