As a customer in the UK, I walked into the Halifax branch of 'The World's Local Bank' to see if I could get a Canadian account set up and maybe even keep some credit score from the UK. I also just wanted to speak to somebody in person about the options as there are multiple different options for accounts. After standing waiting for a few minutes, I was asked if I had an appointment (no) and then was simply told that if I want to open an account I can do it online. Extremely poor customer service and, upon seeing the other reviews here, seems like I've dodged a bullet anyways!

Wow...! What a pathetic customer service, went today at 4:45 to make a very important transaction and they did not allowed me to get in. why? Because, one of the lazy employee said “Oh we have enough clients inside and we are closing in 15 min so you cannot come.” These lazy and totally incompetent staff must be fired.Hi hope someone from the management is looking at HSBC Halifax miserable Google ratings.

ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE telephone service. I am missing over 25,000 points and there is virtually no one to speak with when dialling customer support via the app.I have been sent around in circles for hours - with multiple agents just dropping the call when they don't have an answer.I will be cancelling the World Elite MasterCard immediately. I strongly recommend avoiding HSBC at all costs.

Terrible customer service between the staff and management ive never felt so disrespected in my life. I hope who ever banks with them has a more pleasant experience. I'm not speaking about there whole team because I know they have kind hearted people that work there but for the manager and one staff member I dealt with unreasonable.SAVE YOUR TIME AND DON'T BANK WITH THEM.

Went in looking to open an account with a cashiers cheque in hand.First question, before my name, what kind of account I want, anything, was:"What country are you from""How long have you been in Canada""You know you need to meet certain requirements to open an account right"Pretty ridiculous. Was unaware you have to be from overseas to deal with HSBC.

Friendly service, though parking can be a little bit of an (expensive) challenge. Still a beautiful building to see though.
