I first visited Marc’s salon a few years ago after hearing great feedback from my friends. His cuts are so detailed and precise. His knowledge and skills have been perfected over years of dedication. He immediately became my trusted hair stylist. Last year, I decided to grow my hair longer in preparation for a perm. He knew exactly what I wanted and continues to deliver incredible results and top-tier service. I’m so glad to have a stylist who I can trust. Would recommend to anyone.

ANDO Salon is my favourite place for a haircut of all time. This is very high praise because I prefer ANDO over a salon that I go to on Young/Bloor in Toronto. I have very fine flat hair, and I am always able to achieve a voluminous cut from Marc. He is highly skilled and efficient, and prices are fair. I’m hoping to grow out my bleached hair so I can try out a Korean-style wave perm. I’m not sure if they have a scalp spa service -it seems very trendy in Asia- and I would totally try it here if they have it. Anyways, I definitely recommend checking out ANDO if you have similar hair goals as me!

I booked an appointment after following Marc on Instagram. I had reeeeeeallllly long hair (about 26 inches) and needed a cut. When I got to Ando I started to panic because I read a negative review on my phone in the parking lot. But, I took a deep breath and went inside. I sat in the chair AND GEUSS WHAT!? Marc did an AMAZING JOB. Absolute 10/10. Heads up, he did a dry cut, which is unusual in Halifax, but I like the technique. And, his blow dry skills at 1000/10.

I’ll just start off by saying, I’m not someone who likes to make a big fuss or hurt anyone’s feelings. So I kinda keep to myself.
Firstly, I do appreciate that I was able to get an appointment rather quickly. I spent hours online reading reviews from different salons and this one caught my eye.
The staff were friendly. Two of them brought over books with different colouring pallets to show me different options as I transitioning from dirty blonde /light brown to a darker shade. The lady recommended a cooler shade of brown due to my skin tone/ eye colour. Kinda like a bit of an ashy feel. So I agreed. It was nice that they took the time to do that.
My hair stylist (Aaron.. note: I wasn’t expecting Aaron as I booked in availability online with Marc and wasn’t told at the beginning) went to mix the colour, did his thing. I didn’t feel rushed. He let the colour sit for a good amount of time. Gave me the best head massage during the wash.
During the blow drying process, I started having a bit of an anxiety attack internally because i felt like it wasn’t the colour we agreed on. It had more of a red/ copper feel.. and doesn’t overly go with my skin tone ? I guess I’m just a bit disappointed.
The overall cut was nice, I do feel like I have a bit too much bang and only wanted a simple wispy bang.
Might try going somewhere else to get the colour fixed.
