“This is a very classy "adult" store, with a knowledgeable, professional staff, and a clientelle of decent-looking folks (like me!). I was just window-shopping in the "hood", and came upon this, and thought "Why not check it out?" The kind and helpful staff was at the ready, should I have had some questions about anything. And, there are not just toys and books, here, I really liked their collection of (other) fun things, like the many pins that I bought. It's a place you probably wouldn't be embarrassed to take your grandma to, if she were so inclined.”

“I am not a fan of books as much as my girlfriend is. But we visit Indigo stores together very often. I have to say that this is the best store. There are always books here that my girlfriend wants to buy. In Halifax, for some reason, the books are often out of stock. Overall, the store's assortment is very wide. Here you can buy not only books, but also some interesting things like vinyl records, e-books, vases and much more. The staff is always responsive and attentive. Most importantly, the staff is not intrusive.”
“The manager, Paul, was gracious to allow me to come into the Bookstore while it was closed due to covid. He was very friendly, helpful and hospitable. I bought some King's swag for my daughter, who is attending in the fall. He was very knowledgeable about when the online mandatory reading list would be posted and when the Bookstore would be receiving these books. Everyone I met that day was extremely nice and helped me find my way around the campus!!!”

“people are kind of put off by staff not being overly friendly and chatty but I love it honestly. I don’t want to be chatted up 24/7 while browsing for books. as of my last visit, if you’re carrying a bag you’ve gotta leave it up front which is fine, but just a heads up. huge selection, kind of difficult to find things but I’ve always left with a good haul as long as I’ve had the time to really look.”
“Popped into Strange Adventures while on vacation in Halifax and it was honestly a highlight of the trip! The proprietor was so kind and helpful. The shop was small but very well-stocked with comics old and new, graphic novels, figurines, board games, card games, and other diverse novelty and fan items.I was delighted to find two out of print Star Trek card game decks for a very reasonable price! I also left with an interesting book on female superheroes through history.Two stories of note about the proprietor: when my friend asked if they sold pens and he told her they didn’t he proceeded to go into the back and simply give her a Doctor Strange pen! And then as we were leaving an interesting book caught our eye, and he told us to take it for no charge! He said it wasn’t something people were usually looking for in his shop and just wanted it to go to a good home.I would definitely recommend Strange Adventures and if I ever find myself in Halifax again I will be returning!”
