We stopped in for lunch on our travels. We got a salad that was ok and poutine that came cold. It was a cute place and the patio is nice, but the food is not great. I'd recommend going for a drink on the patio there but getting dinner somewhere else in town :)

Needs a little upgrade, no storage in bathroom, very few outlets in room. The food is excellent and worth the stop for sure. Everything is top notch and well prepared. Presentation is very

Wonderful location in the heart of Baddeck. We did not stay here but stopped in for early dinner around 4oc. Huge mistake! After waiting to be seated for quite some time another couple leaving mentioned we should go out to the front desk to arrange a table. We did so and were taken and placed at a table for 4 in a drafty location near the entrance. The waitress arrived and we ordered two drinks, plus two cups of chowder as an appetizer with one order of "seafood supreme". Before the chowder came we moved to a better spot as there was only one other couple there. The chowder came and we dug in only to find it had a very gluey (not creamy) consistency with an unpleasant flavor in which nothing stood out. My wife took two spoonful's and told me she could not eat it. I was starved and took about 5 spoons before giving up. At this point we were now wondering what the supreme would be like. The waitress came by, we told her we were finished and that we were not happy with the chowder. She took it away and came back with the seafood supreme. It was a deep dish platter with a large amount of melted cheese across the top. Did not look very well presented or appetizing. My wife spooned the cheese back and took one bite. It's the chowder she exclaimed, that's it for me. I took a bite looked at her and said it tastes just like the chowder with gobs of mozzarella on top. I poked around in it and pulled up shrimp the size of my baby finger nail and tough leathery chunks of fish. Seriously I have never seen shrimp that size before. My wife said they were salad shrimp, which I didn't know came that small. I tasted one it was tasteless. I called the waitress over and told her we were finished and would like our bill. She got it promptly and asked us to pay at the front desk. I looked down the bill was $85. A lot for two drinks. We left the restaurant area went to the front desk where we waited for the women to finish a phone call before finally getting to speak. She hung up gave me an indignant look before saying that will be $85 we didn't charge you for one chowder. I said really one chowder when we basically didn't eat a thing how nice. My wife then told her she needed a new chef to which she told us they get nothing but compliments about their chef. I see from some other comments here that this is not the case. But arguing with those who don't agree is the case. She picked up the bill and left the area, arrived back 10 minutes later by which time the only other couple there were also now waiting to pay. That will be $35. again with an indignant look and nowhere a sorry you didn't enjoy your meal. Thank you I said, we left to another restaurant where the experience was definitely better. Off hand I would say the chef is a family member, as it is advertised as a family run business like most are in CB.

Food, unreal. Lucky charm-chicken ball batter fish and chips. I was shocked how amazing the food was..and the loo! Well, very spacious and it was like going into your grandma's washroom in the 90s. Live guitarist is awesome.

Old fashioned, Victorian era hotel. Felt a bit like staying at your grandma’s house. In a good way ;) There was a lot to like.Beds were comfortable, a/c was extremely cold. The showers were amazing. Remember when showers had actual water pressure? Felt like 30 years back when we all had water pressure.Real ceramic coffee mugs and glassware in the room. Nice touch, who wants a drink out of a plastic or paper cup?Shelves seemed well thought out and strategically placed right where you might need one.Microwave and fridge with freezer in room.Simple common sense details like these really make you realize how many modern hotels tend to look slick but are not very functional. One negative: the coffee was really not good and also came with powdered milk. I had to dump it out. Food options looked expensive and we did not partake.Check out/leaving was a bit slow and tedious, just like grandma’s house…

Stayed here before starting the Cabot trail and couldn’t speak more highly of it! Very cute and Victorian plus everyone who works there is lovely, particularly the owner Andrew who actually picked us up from the bus station as we were stuck with no other way to get to Baddeck! 5 stars all round :)

The restaurant was ok. Our first night we decided to have an early dinner around 330pm. Their was only 2 other people in restaurant. My daughter ordered the fish platter, I ordered the filet mignon medium well. The steak was overcooked and lukewarm, the rest of the vegetable on the plate were cold. The chef needs to improve especially when it's not busy yet the food was cold. We were very disappointed. My daughter lobster was hot but undercooked, her vegetable were cold as well. We spent almost $200 for our dishes and 1 alcoholic drink each. Expected a better experience. Our waitress was very nice and did an excellent job. The biggest disappoint was when we went to pay for our food. We had to pay at the hotels check-in counter. The debit machine was broken and apparently for quite some time. By the time we decided to leave and pay their was a huge lineup of dinner guests waiting to pay at check-in counter. It took us 25 min to pay for our meals.Rooms: We stayed above the restaurant. Room looked clean until I checked behind the headboard. Their was major dust that had accumulated on bedframe rail below headboard. As for the shower I had a difficult time turning it on. I could not get water to come out the shower head. I had to pull a weird ring that's on the spout at the bottom.

I wish we did not stop here for lunch. Great location and a perfect patio set up, both with shade and sun to sit in. The Lynwood has everything you would want in a visit to Baddeck yet it has nothing but potential. The Keith's bottled beer was right on the mark. The scallops wrapped in bacon were just barely palatable(we were starving so we ate them. I prayed we would not get sick later in the day). I was asked three times how the meal was and not one person offered any kind of acknowledgement when I said the food was not good. The old-school pay inside indicates the operator can decide what tips the servers get if any and I find that type of establishment creepy. Then this young chap working there walks up to our table with a clipboard and continues to talk the weirdest creepiest banter I ever heard in my life. I thought he wanted to do a survey with the clipboard in his hand but no, he just went on in an awkward manner of conversation about nothing. Serial killer vibes were being served. The Lynwood has everything Baddeck can use but the operator(s) are clearly not aware that they have no clue how to operate a service business. Avoid at all costs!

The service is great! Rooms are very clean, but the beds are super hard.I stay here for work a few weeks a year, and I look forward to being here, but I know sleeping will be an issue due to the hardness of the beds. It's close to everything in town. However, the town closes down fairly early.

Ate in the dining room tonight. Prices were $$$. Kids menu had good choices. DH had lobster roll, basically a sub bun with delish lobster salad in it, with a light side salad. I ordered a quinoa chicken salad. I was expecting it to be cold, lots of veg, and fluffy quinoa. Nope! It was hot, bland, tasted like gravy, and I’d never call it a salad for my life. Oh, but there was a little wilted greens on the side. Our server never offered to refill glasses despite them being empty and in sight at the edge of the table. The millwork is amazing, clearly an old cared-for building. The host made it special for my kiddo. Just don’t get the quinoa..

The interior of the hotel looks new. Our rooms were clean and beautiful. We stayed for 2 nights at this place... Love the Lobster Roll from the retaurant.Rooms: Rooms look new and feel clean. I'm not a great fan of the old Victorian interior design, but it goes so well with the building architecture and the whole vibe ?restaurant was a bit pricey, food tastes great.

Absolutely stunning. We didn't stay just dropped in for breakfast while charging our EV. The dinning room had just closed and we started to leave Hungary but the cook was nice enough to open back up and make us some amazing breakfast!

This review is for the inn restaurant only. The inn itself was nice.1. Very long wait - 20 minutes - though restaurant was not full.2. Mediocre dishes:-"Supreme Seafood": not supreme and doubtfully you could call it seafood. Very heavy mozzarella coating over a mixture of unidentified sea food.- Lasagna: just ok.
