Absolutely terrible business, I had them rebuild a simple th350 and so far every single seal and gasket other than the front pump seal has leaked and had to be replaced again and by the looks of it I don't think they even replaced half of the components they just cleaned stuff and put it back together. These guys are ready for anything. Larry the owner, guides with precision and grace. The technicians are spot on. I'm not sure if they are ASE CERTIFIED, but I do know with the knowledge they have they should be. Larry a n d his guys stand by what they're doing. That's huge for me. Why not 5 stars then, nobodies perfect, and thats the only reson .Thanks for the hospitality.Broke down in West Fargo

This probably goes without saying but Ben is a master at transmissions.. and everything else relating to vehicles.... So if you got problems with your vehicles definitely bring it to Ben and the guys over Master transmission

Awesome people, Larry and Ben!! We were in big trouble!! Out-of-towners. Busted wheel bearing! Piece of cake for Ben! Fixed it in just hours! Price was amazing!! They do everything except body work! Check these guys out when you need work on your auto!!

I didnt get to meet Larry when the car was dropped off but I am beyond happy with how the work turned out when I picked it up. 03 Trailblazer needed a complete rebuild as the cooling lines rusted so bad to the point they were leaking fluid. Larry completed the rebuild and replaced the lines in a timely manner without costing a fortune. He was at least 1k cheaper than a local shop that doesnt do quality work and takes forever. Anyways couldn't be happier with the service from Larry! Nice guy and great service!

Truck went in to repair cracked casing..after couple days of getting it back slipped first through third. He came up with multiple things wrong. Every time talked to him thr story change . Went over to the shop finally, the truck hadn't even been back in the sho . It was out in the parking lot with keys in it and batteries dead. When confronted he gave another excuse. And said he'd get it in next day. Two days later called and said the pcm was bad. Trying everything not to warranty his wor . Pretty sure they took out the pcm. Two months later they still havent fixed it. Very dishonest and not very knowledgeabl . I would never use this shop.

Transmission didn't last a year. They don't have a computer and only take cash or check. We dropped the car off on march 8th. He told us 3 days. We picked it up 11 days later. When we asked him to look up the service date for the warranty, he got mad. Worst shop I've ever dealt with and will NOT recommend this place to anyone

I can't say enough good things about Larry Skalet (the owner) and his team at Master Transmission. We were on a road trip from northern MN to AZ and our transmission went out in Detroit Lakes. It was Saturday at about 4PM. For starters, Larry was the only one who would answer the phone over the weekend. But he was willing to come out to DL that evening and get us if the car couldn't make it to Fargo (which fortunately it did). After we explained our dilemma to them (I had a work interview early that week and our son was starting a new school), they worked over the weekend to completely rebuild our transmission and got us out of there by Monday at noon. In fairness I did pay them a bonus to do so (my suggestion, they did not ask for it), but they absolutely pulled out all the stops to get the transmission done for us as soon as they could. In addition, their price was well under what I know a competitive bid is for a full transmission rebuild. If you're looking for designer coffee, Muzak and fluffy couches to sit on while you wait, you'll be disappointed. (However, all of those things are a $5 Uber ride down the road.) Their operation is pretty no-frills. But that's not what I'm looking for or want in a transmission shop... I want someplace that can get the work done quickly, well, and for a fair price. If that is what you're looking for, this is the place. They're just imminently decent people who do really solid transmission work. I know I'm the first review on Yelp for them, but please don't let that keep you from giving them a try. You won't be sorry.

Had some work done and I have always heard bad stoeies of women taking cars in to be fixed but they were honest and loyal, and stood behind their word. Would recommend Larry and his crew to anyone.
