Such a wonderful experience! We stopped here passing through on a road trip. Dog friendly which is a major plus. The owners are very friendly and hospitable. It is a bit off the grid, but truly adds to the rustic cowboy experience! The rooms are basic but very comfortable with a log cabin-like atmosphere. I only wish we had more time to explore the ranch and the area! A must stay place if you find yourself exploring Theodore Roosevelt National Park!

We pulled into this place, because we were looking for a non crack Motel LOL, but they had no rooms for pets left. But it was so cute like a little old West area. They had into the doors saying stuff like jail Saloon General Store it was just great! An excellent excellent serviceRooms: I sat outside my room, late at night and as the clouds cleared I was treated to the most spectacular View of the Stars. I never saw anything as beautiful as what I saw at Buffalo Gap Ranch. I will be back again and again and again, until we finally move back. And I will recommend this place to any and all! Just if you got a dog make sure you call a week early????

Don't let first impressions worry you. The feel of an old West town that is a bit run down hides a lovely restaurant and bar, decent camping area and wonderful access to National Grassland trails. The campground was very quiet at night with great views. Close to Medora. The people are nice!

The location was great...just minutes from Medora. However the service and accommodations were to be desired. The bathrooms in the room had no locks and we got locked out of our room twice in the two nights we stayed as the locks should be replaced. The place is definitely in need of some TLC and upgrading, even if it is meant to look rustic. There is no free breakfast, and the main lodge is only open 8-8..so you better hope to not get in late OR need assistance as there is no one available after 8PM. We enjoyed our stay only due to our good company that we brought...also when we made the reservation we were told the room was $150/night...each room has 2 queen beds and a set of bunkbeds...however when we arrived they charged us extra because there were 4 adults in 1 room? Made no sense as the room fits 6 adults.

Picturesque view, worth the drive on the rough dirt road. Nice little restaurant on location, fabulous hamburgers. Staff was very friendly and great to work with..

THE cowboy buffet you need to hit when in Medora/Western ND! Massive bacon, great stories, and good company.

We stayed at the Buffalo Gap Ranch for one night in September. Our room was dirty with dog food kibbles on the floor with cob webs everywhere. The refrigerator was so frost bound that it really didn't cool. For dinner we ordered a ribeye and New York strip steak medium rare both came medium well. We will not be staying here ever again.

Expectation: A quaint place to stay with a view.Reality: $170/night?! They should have paid ME $170 as a thank you for killing the wasps. If you like paper thin walls, sheer curtains, concrete mattresses, insects, burned out light bulbs, and remnants of grime and Wheat Thins left behind from previous guests, BOOK NOW.

Worth the stop to realize what was there, an excellent place to just get away for a wedding, class reunion, parties, roping, you name it they can provide!

Not the best campground I’ve stayed in. It’s extremely run down and in need of some TLC or new owners. Landscape is mostly rough gravel and weeds. No shade. Funky water hookup, you need to adjust your male and female end of hose to hook properly. Shower house is over run with all sorts of bugs, there’s not even a walk way up to the door. Ladies side of showers aren’t even labeled. Positives are good cell signal, close to TR national park and the restaurant looks very cute and homey. Casino and pool table in the restaurant. There’s a lot of potential, hopefully someone who actually cares about running a business will take over and make this place awesome! For $40/night I wouldn’t stay again.

We went for an early dinner. We shared an elk burger and a Buffalo burger. They were delicious and we enjoyed crispy fries with them. Everyone was very attentive and friendly.

Cabin was filthy. Spiders everywhere. Light fixtures were full of dead big bodies. Shower wouldn’t drain. For $150/night I expected more. ?

Nice place to grab a bite to eat. Service was a bit slow but that's pretty common these days as many places are understaffed. The food was good and the prices were average for the area.

Rude Ollie. Dirt Road going in is rough and sucks. Needs grading. They crammed all the rvs in one end if the park o n top if each other. The other half if the park was empty. Not pleasant.
