We didn’t stay at the hotel. We only ate at the cafe while traveling through town. The service was great and our food was delicious. It came out quickly and we enjoyed the small cafe.

Pretty good spot to rest your head when traveling. Rooms are a little out dated but they were clean.

Dude these guys hook it up for my company or so I thought. We had a discounted rate because of the 5 rooms I was renting for over a month. When checking my credit card statement, I soon realized it was much more than what we had agreed upon. Also the rates seemed to get higher as the stay got longer. I'm a small buisness just starting out. I am constantly checking my credit card. I catch extra expenses more than most companies do. Specially bigger companies. Checking the rest of my guys out tomorrow. Putting them into another hotel an half hour away. Just because I was lied to. Probably gonna be more gas expenses. I'm not gonna pay $90.00 a night for a room that at best is worth $40.00 per night. I will never put my guys up in that hotel again. No matter the cost!
Rooms: They suck!!!!

Staff is very rude. Rooms are NOT remodeled and updated. They are NOT queen size beds. Toilets do not flush, tv does not work, floors are dirty (crumbs and rocks stuck to your feet when you walked, and corners were full of gunk) The rooms smell stale. And the window blinds do not close!! Very very disgusting place!!

Location is fantastic, not far from Stump Lake, and only 30 miles from Devil's Lake. Hotel is dated, but clean, and customer service is second to none.
Food & drinks: Great bar, and cafe.

I wouldn't recommend this hotel. The pictures are from grandfork not Lawton. I should have left when I walked in from the smell and dirty lobby. After driving for two days just wanted a hot shower but that didn't happen bathroom was filthy we slept on top of blankets because I wasn't sure if bed had even been changed. Remote didn't work so I walked to lobby to find employee in bar my slippers were soaked before I got there do to wet floors. Asked for a different room but was told they didn't have any for hunters being there I feel sorry for anyone staying there. My husband tried to get us breakfast but it wasn't even eatable. I went to check out the gentleman said he was owner come to find out he's the manager he could care less about any issuesl with the hotel. Very rude and ignorant. I would sleep in my car before I'd stay there. Beware this hotel leaves alot to be desired. I know it's out of the way but the condition and the manager need to be addressed.

Only place in town and right off of the highway. Location is the only thing good about this place. Our room had an elongated toilet seat on a round toilet. Never stay in room 118 unless it has been changed to the correct seat. Floors seemed as though they have never been washed. Beds were not made daily. Too bad it is the only option for overnight stay. We were pleased with the dining and bar, although the service was poor. The waitress set the food at the end of the table for us to pass around or asked who got what, and we then passed to whom ordered. In one instance the waiter sat at our table to take our order...it was very busy as a family funeral brought many people to town, and they are not experienced or able to handle all that many people. I asked for a missing orange for my beer and the bartender brought it to me in his hand??? There is new ownership, so I'm guessing all new help. Hope they can work out the kinks. I also suggest a uniform as it's hard to know who works there when you have to find someone. At least a shirt for all. Don't expect a classy joint but the food is great! And the tap beer is cold if they didn't run out!Noteworthy details: Front Desk person not around much. And when you walk in it is not appealing or inviting! But was a place to sleep and eat.

I get that help is hard to find. And I get that off-brand motels that run half-full or less have skinny profit margins. But it's not acceptable to smell mildew when you enter the room (and all the way down the hall to the room). It's not OK to find a used towel hanging on the shower rod, and a used bathmat disheveled over the bathtub rim, and a used bar of soap in the shower stall itself. We chose not to shower on that night. The remote entrance doors should be locked overnight (with key access), but they are not. The upside of the place was a decent bar that served a decent burger and that was staffed by nice folks.

Rooms reasonably clean. Hotel lobby and hallways rather dirty. It was the only hotel within 40 miles of our grandson so we didn’t have a choice. Bar area could get loud. Older hotel and needs some serious remodeling and cleaning.

Rooms reasonably clean. Lobby was dirty. Would not have chosen this place but it was the closest to where my grandson lived that had a vacancy. Bar noisy. Older not updated hotel. For $140, barely, maybe?, worth the value.
