I went inside to open an account. I was told that no one was working that could do that and I could make an appointment for the following week. I would think at 11am on Friday there would be at least one person working. The teller was nice though, she contacted the other branch and booked me an appointment for a few hours later that is the only reason I gave them 2 stars. I am aware of the expression "banker's hours" but this takes it to the extreme.

If you want excellent customer service please ask for Riley or Corey at this Branch! They went above and beyond, were extremely kind , compassionate , caring and I can’t thank them enough. Being new to Grand Forks this level of kindness is appreciated more than words can say. Sending best wishes for continued success to everyone!

They don’t carry Canadian currency. I honestly don’t know why because they are so close to the border. Disappointed because Minneapolis banks carry this.

There is a short, Caucasian, heavyset lady who works in this branch who must be a compulsive liar and master manipulator. She is courteous and kind, while I'm opening my account, but during my subsequent visits and phone calls, her whole personality changes into something ugly and mean! I received my ATM card, and the phone system did not prompt me to create a pin. That is standard for other banks, but here, I got to do a little more work. So, I called the branch and talked to her, again, and her voice is trailing off, and then she hangs up on me. I assumed this branch was staffed by honest, hard working people, not run by a nutcase, and that she was just busy, because it was a friday afternoon, so I excused the poor phone manners. Then, I entered the branch and told them I was having trouble with my ATM card and she makes every attempt to embarrass me and contradict me in front of the other employees to make me look like a fool. She says she gave me a temporary ATM card and set my pin code with utter conviction and I told her I didn't recollect any of that. As if she is trying to provoke me and order me around. If the bank has a sense of honor, they can roll back the footage and watch what went on. The time was 3:30PM to 3:50PM on Friday, June 3rd. Do they use security footage to check on the customer service of their employees or just in case of a robbery? Be careful of their ATM machine. It allows cash deposits, but if there is a malfunction, be aware that any dispute will work in the bank's favor, meaning they probably get to keep some people's money. It shouldn't be legal, but it is. They will tell you they are looking into the matter and the money will be deposited into your account in several business days, and then you will have a hard time getting ahold of anyone, either at your local branch or through their national number. I get it! That's funny! They want to make sure service at the teller window is so terrible, so people will use their ATM machine for their transactions and then the bank will get to keep some of the money and claim that the ATM machine is unreliable. I suppose she never handed over her business card because she didn't want people to know her name. She is meant to be faceless, anonymous. Just to blend into the woodwork. I suppose most of the employees here want to remain anonymous, so no one will be able to mention them when they complain to the corporate office about them. It isn't so bad when people are rude to me. I'm not arrogant and I don't expect people to be polite all the time. It's that there was such a severe change in attitude between before she opened my account and afterward. And her behavior went beyond rudeness to feel more like dominating me through fear. And I felt that she was demonstrating a pattern of behavior that she meant to repeat, everytime I visit this branch to try to do my banking. And she seemed to be a supervisor and the tellers are meant to copy her behavior or at least agree with it. And by agreeing with it, go against other clients, or at least me. So, there are extenuating circumstances as to why I take her behavior so seriously and why I was so disturbed by it. And why my reaction is to form a plan to close my account and not talk to them or let them correct things and give them more chances.

After being brushed off very quickly, by a US Bank mortgage lender, I called this branch to inquire about a small personal loan. I was (again) brushed off quickly and told to submit an online application, which I did. Some time later, I received a generic letter from the bank. In the letter, I was denied the loan and given no reason for the denial. I emailed the loan officer and left voice mail messages several times to inquire why I was denied. I never did get a response from anyone at US Bank. I went to another bank and very quickly was approved (and given) a very large loan.
