First time here and I'm not one who will be saying "I'll return to this truck stop" if I'm back in this area.
The restrooms were clean and the Souvenir Isle was interesting with their Magnetic State Map & Individual States; but so far I'm not impressed.
I had to move my truck and trailer from the Second Row to the Far Back Row Area just so I could detach from it for an hour or two. What is the difference between the Second Row and the Back Row if I'll be returning in a couple of hours? No matter what row I'm in, other truckers will still have to get around me or park next to me whether I'm in the Second Row or Back Row; and either way, I'll still be taking up a spot. I can understand if I'll be detached for a day or more, but not a couple of hours.
Other reviewers have complained about the rude staff, which I can kinda understand from my encounter with the cashier (don't know her name or position). However, my main issue is with the "Dropped Trailer" policy. Because of that, first time here and I find this truck stop already stupid and not worth returning to.
Question... if I had PAID for a Reserved Spot and dropped my trailer for 1 to 2 hours and returned in a timely matter, would I have found my trailer towed or something - even though I had PAID for that Particular Spot?
Cause if so, you'll have fun explaining that to my company :)
Nevertheless, I'll be trying out the TA Travel Center or Simonson Travel Center next time I'm here.

I have mixed feelings ... some of the Staff is amazing. The subway is horrible, absolutely horrible. Restrooms are usually filthy. Showers are usually clean though. Parking lot is always full of unhooked trailers with no room for over the road trucks to fit

This flying j is filthy. It's 7:19 am (they are not busy) my man & are the only customers in store (1 man in restroom) with 3 more at diesel islands, roller grill is empty, no one is working subway, floors are dirty with debris, spots & dirt. Fountain & slushie machine are filthy. 3 women are flapping their jaws behind the counter. Not 1 of them greeted us or asked if we needed anything. They were too busy talking amongst themselves. And to the woman behind the counter wearing the jersey (bought no thanks to your maid of honor) , no one cares & if you ask me, wearing your precious jersey to work may lead to you not wanting to do your job properly so you don't get it dirty. Wear your uniform & do your job. The place is filthy, items have been picked up & left all over the store. Yall got lighter items on top of candy bars, candy bars with stuffed toys, sun hats on the floor & clothes hanging off the hangers & on the floor...lazy & unprofessional up here in Grand Forks Flying J. Take some pride in your work & place of business. We won't be back

The Flying J is always clean the staff is friendly You never have to wait for a shower . But today April 28 at 1000 am I tried to get a sandwich from the Subway for the 1st time in years as I had an issue with another Subway . Anyways I get to the counter and after 10 minutes the guy working there says in the most sarcastic voice he can have We're not open yet I ask When will you be open Now this time in a real sarcastic tone he say I'll open when I open Hey if you dont like your job go f8 d o e where you dont have to deal with the public I'm now done with Subway and i will never foul at them in Grand Forks ND again

Place is a joke. Subway is never open. 7pm and the lady working at subway tells me they are closed. Says 10pm online

Pretty good store for what it is , no hot foods and the gas pumps are down now , didn’t know why and only seen one open so I asked for fuel on it and the manager started cussing about them not supposed too be open. She definitely needs too check her attitude at the door cuz customers asking simple questions shouldn’t have too deal with unstable peoples attitudes over simple questions. Especially when the pump isn’t blocked off or anything.

This place ought to be ashamed. Second time I've bought a sandwich there and got sick. I could've played hockey with it and after I took a bite realized the meat was rotten. There just truck drivers though... they'll eat anything right.
