I have been to this shop 3 times in 3 months. Largely because they were quoting cheaper than the shop I typically went to. Unfortunately I won't be going there any longer.
On this most recent experience, I was having trouble with my auto stop on my 2018 GMC Sierra. After having it for an afternoon, they told me a belt and tensioner had to be replaced but had to order the part. It would be the following week at the earliest. I would be responsible for repair plus parts plus diagnostic fee).
When we scheduled the repair, I made it crystal clear that I needed my vehicle back quickly as possible as I am a rideshare driver and no car means no income. He assured me he only needed it for an hour or two and then I could have it back. So I scheduled it for 1 pm on a quiet afternoon in my deliveries.
The day of the repair, I dropped it off even a half an hour early. Again, when dropping off, I told Bob i needed it asap and he asked when. I said before 5 pm. He made a note for 4:30 pm so there was a buffer. I smiled and said thank you.
About an hour into the repair, I was called and told there was actually another belt they had to cut and replace to get at the belt they were already replacing. But apparently this was not realized when doing the first assessment. So the tech who found the issue didn't know he would have to remove the other belt?
So he tells me they cut the other belt and didn't realized they had to order yet another belt and no one in town has it. So now my car is immovable because the belt cut was essential to run water pump and would need the belt ordered. Now I am without the vehicle I need for income. Despite me stressing the urgency of needing my car back.
Next day, they get the belt with the day half over. Offer no discount on the repair. And I am out almost 2 days of income out with no restitution. Oh, they offered to get me a rental car, but I can't use that for ride share as I need my licensed, insured, and registered car.
I won't be going back.

Bob serviced my van and did a fantastic job. He was upfront and honest throughout the entire process. I'll definitely be using their services again and recommending them to friends.

Had a wonderful experince with them when my car broke down. Their prices are comparable to surrounding shops however everyone I interacted with was super helpful and knowledgeable and thus I couldn't say something bad about them even if I wanted to 10/10 will go to them if I find myself needing car help again in the grand forks area

Long story, short. My transmission died and I had a tow by Braden from 701 Towing to Golden Rule. Since I am new to the area I was grateful for a recommendation. Golden Rule was booked up but was still able to get my car in that week to diagnose it. Noel was fantastic at keeping in touch and extremely knowledgeable for my options. I ended not getting any work done at Golden Rule and bought a replacement car instead, but my experience with the level of service Noel provided has made me a lifelong customer already!
