Love this dollar tree! Not only can you find a million treasures in the place (for only a dollar! ), but the staff is amazing. Typically a long line when checking out though

Generally good selection of things. Much cleaner than the other Grand Forks store but wish they had a frozen section.

I travel a lot for my job, and this location has to be the most organized store that I have been to. Merchandising for a store with ever changing inventory must be tough, and many other stores seem to just give up (items placed in varying areas of the store, stuff thrown everywhere, etc). This store was stocked and merchandised like a Target.

The manager there doesn't know what's going on. She called me for an interview. Left a message looking for somebody totally different and then when I called back she tried to tell me that it wasn't her that left that message. Set up an interview for the next day. Next day I went there and supposedly my interview was the day she called me at 1:30 don't know how when she called me at 3:00 I think the store needs a new manager.

I got a strange feeling that I was 'walking on eggshells.' That the employees are suspicious of customers, almost as if we are being scrutinized. Not on big problems, like if we are shoplifters, but on our behavior, that they might want to police customers behavior. I can appreciate that the company or local managers might need to be self-righteous at times or to treat their customer's like children, but if I can get stuff at similar prices, brought out to me at Wal-Mart, with their pickup service and not have to enter a store, then I might choose that option, in the future. I was treated just fine, don't get me wrong. The clerks were polite. I just got a funny feeling based on their facial expressions and their attitudes that something was rather paternal in their philosophy. I don't want to be lorded over or judged while I'm shopping. I would rather them get to know me as a person, because if they get my repeat business, then they will see me and if I make a mistake, they can forgive me. But, it might be a store by and for women, and so being self-righteous might be in line with their highest values. If I have to be on my best behavior everytime I go into the store, I suspect that I'm not perfect and they will notice and it worries me how they are trained to act when a customer makes a mistake. Are they given leeway to be intimidating or rude or even to threaten us with police action, like that other reviewer mentioned, Jennifer G.? There is no Yelp page for the Dollar Tree on Washington St., so I submitted that business for Yelp to add it. I hope my impressions were wrong, that they want to be welcoming and to get to know their customers, before judging them, rather than trying to wait for a customer to make a mistake, and then judging and punishing them. The abusive customer service of using customers as scapegoats is all too common in our society, so I have cause to be wary. I went to the Dollar Tree website, last night, to complain about the other Dollar Tree store and question if the employees might be paranoid or suspicious, but they make it really hard to contact them. I eventually did, through their website, but I don't expect to receive a response. I think this company gets a lot of complaints, so they shut themselves off from contact. Maybe, the complaints are reasonable and the company is not well run. You have to go through a bunch of submenus and follow instructions to irrelevant help topics in order to finally get to a contact us link. Their website has links to contact us, but they just make you click through a lot of screens, pretending they are trying to get you to the right dept. or to answer your question in an FAQ, but their true goal is to make you give up trying to contact them in frustration and to thwart you. My impression, from their website, is that I'm not really dealing with an honest company. You never get to a phone no. or address. I suspect if you did get to a phone no. that it would be some woman pretending to take down notes about your complaint, that would never be passed on to anyone who could make use of your complaint. Maybe, all of this is an indication of how much they care about their employees and customers, meaning very little.

Nice variety of products. Far cheaper for brand names than the big box stores.
