Will never go back to this place! Unprofessional, unfriendly receptionist. Dental equipment looked dirty.

Terrible place. It took a whole year for me to get a cleaning, took 2 hours for the cleaning. Taking 2 months for a lower night guard because the girl keeps putting in an upper night guard order even though it is supposed to be Lower. I paid $261 and I’m seriously thinking of a refund. I also had trouble with my first appointment because they kept saying I didn’t have dental but they never called my insurance I had to call them myself. They are nice, however, I feel that some don’t know how to do their jobs because she was forcing the night guard on me even though I told her it hurt and I had a lower not upper, the girl that did the cleaning was hurting me so bad my gums and teeth was so sensitive for a whole 2 weeks, my gums were swollen and bleeding. The entire experience with them had been terrible and frustrating. Do not recommend it.

They can never get me in. I have started going out of state for my work. This office is just too busy to accomodate their patients. They do good work if you have the time to fit their schedule.

Dental assistant wore her mask like a chin guard. Keeper opened sterilized tool packs without gloves. She had a bad attitude, was clearly just doing the tasks not treating a patient and Hit me with xray machine. The hygienist was great! Friendly and skilled.

I'm answering for my 90 year old Dad. The appointment was very timely. The staff were very polite and efficient. The only problem was that Dad could not hear/understand the tech who did the rads

The clinical staff were all fantastic, the gal who did my X-rays was great. The timeliness of my appointment was good and they clearly went over the plan and cost with me and made appointments for the work. The front desk staff was not welcoming…but I am gonna chalk it up to an off day.

Aspen dental obviously had my review removed because it’s no longer up, so I’m going to re-post it.I scheduled my husband an appointment in February 2023 and the appointment was for late May 2023. When I made the appointment with the Grand Forks office, they confirmed everything with us in March and in April via text and email, and we confirmed everything. Fast forward to the day before his appointment, and we get a text saying, “Your appointment is for X time on X date. See you soon!” Fast forward to the day of his appointment, we are on our way there and we call to make sure of his appointment time & date. We’re on the very far end of 32nd when the receptionist answers the phone. SMH. We explain to her the situation and ask her to confirm his appointment. She responds with, “He has no appointment. It must be at another location.” She goes on to say that she doesn’t know why we thought we had an appointment at the GF location and it’s probably for Minot or Fargo. My husband and I both said in unison that we spoke to her personally months ago. She got very snippy & short with us after this, and said that there was never a record of us having made an appointment. We then read her all of the emails and text messages and told her the email address and the number and she’s like, “Yeah, that’s this office, but there’s no appointment for you and there never was.” My husband then tells her that she is extremely unprofessional and this whole situation is unprofessional because he had to take off of work for it which cost us over $300 in pay for the day. She didn’t care. Her voice got more agitated as did she, and she was being extremely aggressive with us by the time we hung up. The kicker was that she tried to tell us it was $500 for canceling our appointment the day of. There’s DEFINITELY NOT any high fees for canceling appointments really anywhere, and WE didn’t cancel anything; Aspen is just severely incompetent. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!

Well, I got scammed. I read the reviews and were hoping they were wrong. But they were right. I will start by saying one good thing, though. The dental hygienist was amazing. Absolutely great experience with her.I go there, not having been to the dental office in a long time.I get there, and the girl at the front desk shames me for not going to the dentist in a few years. I asked her if I needed to get them past dental records and she says “oh god no, what do you think we would do with those if you don’t feel the need to visit the dentist in that much time, are you crazy?” Instantly there I should have known something wasn’t good. When you get to your first free appointment. They make you pay in advance with a credit card they sign you up for. And you pay in advance months and months. Well in my situation, I have payed but cannot get an appointment for what I paid for. I had three appointments. Two for fillings and one for some cleaning treatment. The cleaning was amazing, because she was so kind. But my fillings were something else. A new lady walks in. Doesn’t say a word to me. She’s a different dentist than the first I saw. I have no clue what her name is. She literally said “open your mouth”. No introduction, no nothing. Starts numbing. When she starts drilling it’s a problem. I needed more, I literally jumped out of the chair cause of the pain from the drill and it not being numbed. It’s like the nightmare I’ve always had. I start crying. She said she would numb more. When she goes back to the tooth, it is still not numb. And I am being so so serious, as I am startled again and tell her that it’s not okay she goes“Well that tooth is almost done. That tooth wasn’t taken care of. I’m not numbing any more” and she literally tortures me to finish the filling. If that’s not enough, there’s more.I am supposed to go in a week after that filling for my top filling. Normally I would have multiple calls to confirm appointment. But since I was there 7 days prior and said to the girl at the desk “see you next week” I was assuming that they had marked I had confirmed and that’s why they didn’t call for my last appointment confirmation. As I’m on my way I call just to see. The new girl on the phone tells me the other office girl was fired (which why would you tell me that, and I honestly was okay with it because she was terrible to me). She then tells me I was never scheduled. I emailed her my paper from my very first visit 6 months prior that had the date highlighted. I was absolutely scheduled. She said, oh no. I have to talk to “doc” and see when we can. You didn’t confirm. Last confirmation was 4 weeks ago”. And I said it absolutely was not. I was there a week ago and my last confirmation was that. I also literally confirmed a week ago today. She argued with me and we came to an agreement she would call me after lunch to see when “doc” could get me in. No call. I called the next day and she said the same thing. I have to talk to doc and I will call. No call.I have now paid for that filling so my credit score doesn’t go down. But have yet to get out of the cycle of “we can’t schedule you. We have to talk to doc”. I still have the paper off when I was scheduled. It’s too bad. I really was hoping they would have worked out. But even though I had some good experience there, I have now felt like I made a terrible decision and it cost me so much money, and I still have cavities. Now to find another dentist office and repay for services I should have gotten done there. I feel like it’s illegal what they did to me. But I am not going back there. A big thanks to the lady who does the cleaning and gingivitis treatments though. She is absolutely amazing.

Aspen Dental, Grand Forks, ND. I was hesitant to go here after I read all the reviews, but I was so wrong. I wish I could give more than 5 stars!! They were they most pleasant and professional dental office I have ever been to. They worked with me for several weeks with fillings, whitening and finally partials. The partials fit like a dream and I couldn't be more satisfied with their work and professionalism. After only a couple visits when I would come in they would remember me by name and greet me as such. Again, an awesome dental team at the Grand Forks Aspen Dental Office. Kudos to the staff and doctors at this location...WONDERFUL.

If I could rate this company 0 stars I would. It has been nothing but a headache in order to successfully make an insurance claim and get my money back. They had no problem calling every day about my balance when I used the wrong insurance. I talked with them and submitted the correct insurance. They informed me that it could go to collections before the new insurance claim went through. Because of this I decided to pay the balance so it would not go to collections and so the calls would stop. This was all over the course of 3 months so far. Then in the process of making the claim with the correct insurance, Aspen Dental took so long to correctly submit the claim that my insurance provider was counting down the days for me to file a grievance. This was over the course of 3 more months. Then once the money was finally credited to my account it has taken another 2.5 months and counting to get it refunded. Nobody knows when it will be refunded, I was told there is no cooperate number to follow up with on the matter since once the person on sight submits it they cannot see the status nor can I. I've never submitted a review but hopefully this saves someone else an immense headache.

Aspen dental change their office hours, and decided to reschedule my appointment, and never warned me ahead of time. As somebody with an astronomically busy schedule, it is nearly impossible to schedule a dentist appointment anymore. When I called to try to figure out a way to get in sooner and/or receive a refund the manager at the Grand Forks clinic dodge my calls for almost 6 months. It took me having to come in person for her to give me a refund. She was a coward that never returned my messages or calls. Complete lack of transparency, and terrible customer service, 10 out of 10 would not recommend find a local office that is not a corporate chain.

Absolutely the worst place I've ever been in my life. Completely ruined my experience of ever wanting to see another dentist. Went in for a weird taste in my mouth, ended up being charged an unbelievable amount on a credit card they glorified by saying it was my best and cheapest option. All of the work they told me I NEEDED to get done and pay for before leaving, nothing was explained to be optional. The visit was supposedly a "free examination" to determine the cause of my mouth burning, which was the only thing that was not addressed. I was coerced into signing the bill under the guise that the insurance they recommended would cover a great deal as soon as we got ahold of them. Some strange mixup happened while obtaining insurance and instead I was given a discount program. Aspen was unable to explain to me that I didn't have insurance, but instead said I did after being incapable of finding my member id multiple times and having more than enough knowledge and time to inform me that I never had an actual plan after me asking again and again. They gave me another huge bill after "verifying" said "insurance," upped my monthly payments after assuring me they would not increase, and for some reason, took unnecessary amounts of X-rays. Wife went to a different dentist who informed us we never had an actual plan and very easily explained to us the discount program that Aspen claimed was insurance. Now a year later and I'm in more pain than before, still have the abnormal taste, and one of the most important teeth they "fixed" makes touching my teeth together feel like I have to puke. Absolutely fuming that companies that are supposedly so praised can pull stuff like this off. I am still having teeth pain and now feel completely against seeing any dentists about it, thanks to this horrible experience. Their "attempts to make things right" have involved nothing but silence and ghosting. Should definitely have talked to family and friends before going here, all of whom have had bad experiences like my own. I'm too afraid and annoyed to see another dentist. Out of fear of getting charged again to re-fix what I've already spent to fix, which is more than I was able to spend in the first place. Hopefully no one else gets duped, or I hope this company gets better. God bless, my apologies for the rant. It's very rare that I am ever this upset with a company, but already being weary of dentists before coming here, just to have that fear amplified by the time I'm out of the door is absolutely ridiculous. These places should make you feel welcome and safe. Not intimidated and stressed out.
