Great selection of new and used vinyl in a comfortable setting. Lots of rare vinyl and assorted genres. It's our go-to destination when in Fargo.

This place is awesome! They have a huge inventory of vinyls and board games! There are lots of rare records I haven't been able to find anywhere else, too. I could honestly spend all day in there just looking at stuff. Definitely recommend a visit!

It's always a great place to stop when I'm in town. The gentleman that's always working is kind and helpful and also very knowledgeable. The store has a fantastic selection of music, games, and misc goods. I always walk out with finds that make me very happy.

I made an honest mistake and called them on Small Business Saturday to ask an inventory question and was immediately met with being told not to call them and if I wanted to know something/have questions answered to come in store.I’m truly and deeply sorry for disrupting what has been a busy day for you, but I also don’t think I deserved to be met with such abrasion for a call with a question before driving out. It’s completely reasonable and understood you may have not been able to look and could’ve just said that because of the circumstances- but instead I was immediately made to feel incredibly and immensely uncomfortable over an honest mistake. Again, I’m sorry you’re having a rough day, glad Small Business Saturday is going well for you. Would’ve loved to support you- But the demeanor of that call was really unnecessary, shocking, and rude.

Not enough selection in genre, seems to only carry new vinyl of pop. Reeks of hipster trash and they play absolute garbage while your in there. If your a rock/metal fan you will be dissapointed. Target hype stickers on the product openly telling you your being ripped off. Staff is very self entitled and rude. Also do you know what heat does to vinyl? Not having functional ac or not running it during summer is unprofessional for any Record store, let alone a larger one such as this.

Cool store. They sell a good variety of vinyl. A nice friendly dog greets you at the door named Gertie. The store is a little smaller then I thought based on the photos.

AVOID AT ALL COSTSThe used records are priced way too high. $1 records are $10 minimum and at every good will you can find the same $10 album for 50 cents. Mofi and nicer pressings are double what they should be. There are many instances of failure to properly grade the records and not a single price that isn’t a rip off.The staff also know nothing about the store they work in. I asked to look at the cartridges in a case and they didn’t know what a cartridge was. It isn’t my job to educate staff at a record store, so I walked out, and bought It online instead. Many people I know have had issues with his “repair shop”. A friend dropped a turntable off a few years back and waited a year with consistent calls for updates and never heard back. After a year, they went back to the store and demanded to pick up their turntable. The owner (Aaron) refused to give it back and acted like he never had it. My friend had to pull out his phone to call the cops and when the owner suddenly came running over with the turntable in hand.Add on that all of the used audio gear is astronomically priced. He wants top notch mint prices for receivers and gear with missing knobs and dented cases. I checked reccently, and a Technics SL-1200 MKII with a $40 Audio Technica cartridge had a $595 price tag. What a joke, locally on Facebook and Craigslist you can find them serviced with a much nicer cartridge for around $350-$450 by a better repairman. I also saw a Marantz turntable needing repair and made a more than reasonable offer considering it needed extensive work. The owner still wanted over $1200 for it (high end price for a mint turntable) when it had missing parts and damage, in that condition it would sell for $500 at most.I highly recommend Orange Records less than a block away if you want fair prices and a better customer interaction. Vinyl Giant is a mess and the owner throws fits when things don’t go his way. He also will mock customers and say in comments customer experiences are lies or deny responsibility and claim it’s his competitors making posting all these negative reviews (see his responses to other reviews). The owner of Orange Records is clearly in it for the joy of music and not the greed, unlike Vinyl Giant.I also recommend DTFM distribution if you like metal and want fair prices. They have a good used selection too with reasonable prices. Mothers in Moorhead is also a suggestion but their stock is limited.Too bad Phat Cat is gone, the owner was a j*** just like the owner of VG, but at least he had fair prices going for him.Again, avoid Vinyl Giant at all costs. Don’t get ripped off.

A great mix of board games and music! Both sections had a good selection. Only downside is that the lighting around the board games wasn't always the best. Otherwise great!

It's a nice store if you are looking for rock, blues, jazz, hip-hop, etc., however, I like odd things like traditional music from America and beyond. One often finds some items like this in folk, country & sometimes, bluegrass. While all the other stuff was easily accessible in top bins, the folk section was in lower bins and were so full that one couldn't browse them. So, I just left. I realize that my tastes are definitely not in the mainstream & most record stores are just like this- all manner of subdivision for rock/pop & and folk, trad, world & often country & bluegrass all dumped together and usually less accessible. That's why I usually use something like Discogs.

I went in for the first time today to check it out. They have a wonderful selection of vinyl! When I was checking out, the nice young man asked me if I knew about RSD and let me know they would be getting a certain title in, just from looking at my shirt. He told me a few places I might be able purchase it online for retail price, as we live a couple hours away and it would be tough to be there for the event. A great place to shop with amazing, helpful, and knowledgeable staff! I will be coming back in the future! I highly recommend.
