Reserved a 10x15 online two weeks ago with a credit card.. walked in today to check in and get the paperwork filled out for move in date. They tell me they don’t have a unit available.. I had planned for this unit for two weeks as the place to move in, now imagine all of your stuff is packed and you’re ready to go. In fact two weeks ago I moved my other storage facility and flew to Denver and had a smooth move in with Extra storage space.. imagine they pull this move after I had arranged for flights, rental truck, and hotel as well as someone to help me move. I would have been LIVID. I already am angry with this place in south Fargo. They mentioned that had 3 other people reserve a 10x15 and they don’t have one currently available. Uhaul operates like this? What horrible customer service do NOT recommend. I blew up at the front desk and honestly they deserve it. Talk about incompetence

Very bad experience. I booked a 20' truck at this store in January 2023 for my cross-state moving at the end of May 2023, today (May 23, 2023) I received a text message from uhual, I was told that the truck I booked was not available at that store on my mocing day, and I needed to go to Alexandria, MN (110 miles away), to pick up the truck. I would say it's disgusting and very irresponsible to tell me I need to go 110 miles away to pick up the truck so close to my moving date. This is the worst experience of my life and I don't think I will ever use U-haul again in my life.

Waited in line for 15 minutes to fill propane tanks only to be told they have a valve issue and can't fill them. No sign saying out of order. Still have signs up everywhere for propane filling 7 days a week. 1 star for wasting my time.

I’ve used this location to rent a truck and to rent a storage unit. Both times I was able to rent the unit quickly on the website, and then go pick it up in minutes. Very easy!!

Waited at customer counter for over 15 minutes. Was told by 13th Ave they had RV propane tanks. Associate finally comes and say no we don't. We pulled into the propane fill Station to fill our tanks, the guy that waited on us seen us waiting to be filled and walked into the store and didn't bother to help us. So we left.

I had an appointment to pickup a truck at 9am which is when they are open. It’s not 9:23 and no one is here to unlock the store and assist me with my truck that I’ve ALREADY rented. Very unprofessional when you have customers waiting for you to open your business. We have a limited amount of time to use their trucks and now they have stolen time I could of used moving instead of sitting in my car waiting on whoever is irresponsible enough to not open their business in time. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND INCONSIDERATE OF YOUR CUSTOMERS TIME!!!

Painfully slow service and ridiculous return policy that appears to be branch specific. Will take the few extra minutes and go to 13th Ave site in the future.

Very disappointed in this business all around. A couple years ago I made reservations a month in advance and they made me drive a hour away to go grab a different type of trailer now this weekend I arrive and they did not have what I needed again. They tried to give me something way smaller and not accommodate me for doing so. I arrive and another guy was waiting in line for the same truck. Once I left they sent me a receipt for the wrong truck and wrong fuel gauge. As I brought the truck back I refilled the fuel to half which is where the lady told me to fill it to. The next day I get a receipt of them charging me an additional $78 for fuel after I already filled it. Now today they FINALLY sent me the proper receipt for the truck I actually had. I feel like I deserve better service.Since I started my moving process with UHaul this weekend they have made it difficult. I feel I am in need of a fuel refund and more. I have been hung up on twice and have been accommodating to them since I got there even though they are the ones messing up. Most businesses should accommodate the customer to keep them coming back.I WILL NEVER BE COMING BACK AND I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE AGAIN!!!!!

I reserved a storage unit online through Uhaul in order to store my boat for the winter. I reserved a 10x25’ unit for $84.95 and set the move in date to 9/20. I though, man that was easy and I hooked on my boat to bring it down to store it. When I got there Uhaul said they didn’t have and units and they would add my name to a list and give me a call when one opened up. Fast forward to today 10/3… I called to check in and see if they had availability. They did have one open up, so I drove down to reserve it. When I was making the reservation, they told me it would be 169.95/ month. I asked it they would honor the price I received online and they said they wouldn’t. Well so much for using this place for storage…

Just went in to rent some moving blankets and the guy was so nice. We've used this Uhaul location in the past and it is by far the best location in FM.

Rented a trailer, brought it back few hours later because we got creeped out for the fact it kept following us.

Non existing customer service. I went in to the location and said I need a truck to take down to the cities. He asked for my license and how many miles I will be going and handed me a contract. When I got to the cities and went to the location I have dropped trucks off at other times I have done this rental, I was informed that the truck was supposed to be an in town rental and I will be charged an additional 600 dollars. But it's my fault. Corporate will not help and every one in the company is saying that it's my responsibility to get the truck back. Now the store I left it at that said they would hold my contract has rented the truck out. Again, my fault according to them. Now, I am looking at driving 6 hours out of my way on Christmas eve and still getting charged extra milage and paying another 100 in gas... absolutely horrible customer service from all of uhaul.

Be careful here, they lose reservations and then don't accommodate well at all. I've had it happen twice now from this location. Poor customer service overall. They want customers to accommodate but they won't reciprocate. It's too bad, it's a good location for their business.

2-stars are for the warehouse. More positive comments below about staff. I rent a number of climate controlled warehouse units for business, so I frequent the location frequently. The space is clean and temperature is always consistent, so positive reviews there. On those issues, I'm happy to store my merchandise there. The 2-stars are actually related to two sound issues. The first is that they have a radio playing through the loud speakers, and staff apparently don't know how to turn the speakers down. The radio is loud enough that you can't talk to each other without raising your voice. The radio just bounces off the metal and concrete for an unpleasant mixture of CIA torture techniques paired with classic rock. If there's a positive, I guess it's that we aren't listening to pop. A few of us were working and called to the main office to see if the could turn down the volume, but they admitted they didn't know how. It's just uncomfortable to work in the space when your the only person who showed up to the rave, and there aren't any extra bodies to absorb the sound. The second is their alarm system, which is great in theory. Someone trying to break into you unit? We have the same noise machine used in Waco, Texas to not only drive the would-be thieves crazy, but to notify folks all the way up in Grand Forks that something is going down. The reality of the situation is that the ear-drum -shattering alarm goes off every time someone who didn't "check in" opens their unit, or the cleaning folks open a unit that is still armed. It happens so frequently, in fact, that staff don't even bother to make their way to the unit to see what's up (sure, they could be looking at the security cameras, but doesn't that defeat the purpose? How do they know that person is supposed to be there?). The net result is that if you spend anytime in the space, it's an absolutely uncomfortable place to be. Between the radio and the alarms, you're definitely going to be losing some of your hearing before your work is done. Standing behind a Boeing 747 while someone operates a jackhammer might actually be better for your ears. If you're someone who is going to drop your stuff off and come back in a year, it probably won't bother you. But if you're a business person who may need to do inventory or re-stock for extended periods of time, it's not a pleasant place to be. That said, the front desk folks are friendly, even if they can't find a volume knob. I've never had an issue with reservations or rentals there, and they've worked with me to find the best price for the needs I have. Those two audio issues are killer, thou. I just spent two days there picking up and dropping off, and the issues were consistent on both days. After two-years of rental, I'm motivated now to find a new place to store our merchandise.
