“The Fargo station is small and the seats are not what you would call comfy. It does not open until midnight which is fine since both trains arrive anywhere from an hour 45 mins or more. The attendants are not the friendliest. There have been a couple times when there was no one working. Which was horrible because it means you cant check your bags. I was notified about not being able to check bags but it was only 5 hours before my departure. I suggest calling the station to see if checked baggage is offered before your trip. Do not call Amtrak..you have to call the station. I love traveling on Amtrak but you have to be flexible with your time and do your research. A lot of things are out of Amtrak's control. They have to deal with the freight trains. And they seem to never be on schedule and break down a lot. Most of the stewards I have encountered are friendly and work very hard to make the trip enjoyable. The food is better than any airline. If you have a long trip I suggest you spend the money and get a sleeper. Its comfortable, private and comes with breakfast, lunch and dinner. Amtrak is the only way I travel.”
