Treatment received was fine, everything on the office side though was rather disorganized which is disappointing considering they’re dealing with some pretty heavy responsibilities things that affect peoples LIVES. Be prepared to be on their case to do their job and get your info sent off where it needs to be, if not chances are it’s gonna negatively affect your legal consequences if that’s what you’re seeing them for.Update: go to ADAPT for your treatment services instead.

I am really happy with the mental health counseling services and ADHD diagnostic assessment I received from Alexis McMullen at The Village. Alexis was open, kind, and really upfront about treatment plans and possible costs. I really appreciate the guidance and support she gave me. Thank you, Alexis and The Village!

I miss coming here before there was a huge office staff turnover. I used to go to First Step and a big reason I loved it was for a young lady who supported me there. I cannot remember her name but she was in the front staff, had blonde hair, and was so kind. She showed me so much warmth, compassion, and was sensitive to my struggles. She made me feel like a person. I would request her when I would call in.I took a break after COVID and coming back I realized a lot of the reception is different. I hope I can make a connection with the new staff, so far they are very rude and condensing. They have no compassion on the phones. Wish me luck to find healing please.

Since March of 2020, my wife and I have had a combination of 8 different counselors (soon to be 9) for both individual and couples counseling. 4 of those 8 have left or are leaving the village. The service we have received from these counselors has been great, and the review is more for the front office staff, and appointment staff. But I can see why these counselors are leaving. I wouldn't want to deal with the management here either. When a counselor leaves the village, there is no transition to a new counselor. You will receive an email or a letter that your counselor is leaving and to call with any questions. Your counselor may suggest a few of the other counselors that best suit your needs, however, when working with the appointment staff, they will book you with whomever and state that the people your counselor suggested are not taking new patients. Last time I checked, I’ve been going to the village for years, I am not a new patient.I have had incidents with the appointment staff where a counselor is out sick (again, it happens, this isn’t on the counselor themselves) and the appointment staff will call to let me know asking if I want to reschedule…….for the only opening they have that is 3 months from now………..I ask if I can see someone else in between, and am told I can, but they have to file paperwork because I have to transfer to that counselor. Why? I don’t want to change who I am seeing, I just have an appointment that I had booked for a month (or longer) and would like to see someone, anyone.Or, you can get put on a waiting list and you can get an email that states they have an opening. But the email is a template, that says they have an opening on Date________ and Time____________ with no actual date or time listed.Or, the appointment staff will try to stick you with an 8 am time the next day, but you have already made mentioned countless times that you can only meet during certain time periods of the day due to your jobs, kids, etcThe counselors at the Village truly do care about helping everyone out that they see. However, I feel the appointment staff and management do not care about people’s mental health, are rude on the phones, don’t answer the phone, or care more about paying for moving in the renovated building a few years ago.I don’t go to the Village because I have to, I don’t go because of Dr’s orders, I go because I realize I have some things I need to work on. Based on reading some of the other reviews, I can only imagine what some of the people who have much larger struggles go through when working with the front office staff and management at the village. The Village management may want to take a look at why so my counselors are leaving as well…..You are losing some experienced people who are amazing.

This mental health clinic has it set up where their clients have to see separate counselors if they are using free EAP work benefit sessions. This means that if you want to use your EAP benefits, you need to see their licensed counselors, and then afterwards you will have to switch to a provider that is covered by your insurance to use your copay. They scam their clients out of their EAP benefits and act like it’s normal to make their clients completely switch providers and have to start all over again with a therapist. Also, I’m seeing a lot of reviews claiming their reception staff isn’t good. These claims have held up in my experience, the receptionist I spoke to explained all of what I just shared above very poorly to me. While on the phone with her I was very confused and taken back by their EAP policy, and I was asking a lot of questions. She laughed at one of my questions in a way that made me feel ashamed. It’s extremely important to have delicate and knowledgeable reception at a mental health clinic, so the amount of people complaining about their reception should be a big red flag for anyone considering this clinic as a source for their therapists. It’s already so difficult to reach out when people are at their lowest, a poor reception staff can turn anxious clients away not only from the health clinic itself, but seeking care in general.

I met five times with Kim Douglas with my parents. She didn't hear me and kept reframing the issues in a way that totally changed the issues and had NOTHING TO DO WITH HOW I WAS FEELING. She doesn't listen, she doesn't hear, and her outside intervention with my mother has made any future relationship with my mother impossible. Kim was my last and best hope, and she made it so much worse. I am not sure I can ever get over the harm that she has caused. I am overwrought.

Not good so far. I booked my first appointment with them and tried to book the 2nd one right away so that I don't lose the time slot during the time frame that I'm able to attend. Although she was nice and courteous she said no "it's against policy" but said that she sees that that are openings and I should be able to book with him after my 1st appointment. Surprise surprise... After my intake appointment finished we could not find an appointment available in the same time frame for another month. VERY DISSAPOINTED. It's difficult enough to come asking for help but then arriving and to be told come back in a month is disheartening. I hope they revisit this policy.Update: Canceling my appointments further based on their response cuz clearly they didn't listen to my concern. The problem is that they aren't giving their clients the scheduling power and are assuming that the client is irresponsible and won't cancel the 2nd appointment if its not needed. I have also been able to book in advance with all other practices in the past. Good luck to you guys

I have been referred to this place twice now. For my self in April of 2020 and for my son January 2021. They do not answer the phones they also do not contact the hospital to which you were referred from. Then once calls go answered im transfered to multiple different people. You guys are here to help people with services yet you simply cannot answer the phone or be any type of way helpful. It's absolutely ridiculous. When will the company be closed so my hospital can stop using you as a referral service....people need help and you are making it seem that help isn't an option.

Bias opinion just to put you in treatment. When completely unnecessary or completely inappropriate! Won't give a second opinion. Dont waste your time rude staff to top it off. Biggest ponzi scam out there!

The phone staff makes you feel so unwelcome. I spoke with a Brittany and she was very rude.
