Clothes themselves are not the worst. However the staff makes you feel like an inconvenience for shopping. I avoid shopping here because the staff is consistently unhelpful and rude. Clothes mentor is better.

Why wouldn't a consignment shop clean this off? Or why would they sell such an item? Am I wrong for wondering? On March 14, 2023, I was treated so ugly at this store. When asked to try on items, I was ignored. When asked about these shoes, which has fecal matter on them, the acting manager was so rude to me. Along with that, wouldn't even give me a discount on the shoes. Her sales associate, who refused to give her name. She claimed that it was corporate policy not to give her name. Additionally, she threw my shoes at me! She claimed "I put them down." I never had an experience that I had at Plato's Closet ever like this. The staff was rude, and in my opinion, racist.Corporate attempted to contact the GM of the store. The GM gave no replay to corporate. I am appalled. If you go there, be careful. You may get your shoes thrown at you

My friend and I went in so she could sell her clothes. All the items she bought were only a year old and were still in amazing condition. They barely looked at the clothes. Tbh I think they didn’t even look at anything. She has just bought clothes from them a week prior and they sad the clothes were outdated and out of style. The lady who checked her in was very rude and abrasive. I would rather write a 100 page essay than going to Plato’s.

The store manager Tiffany was very disrespectful and cursed at me she had an attitude the entire time threw my items back at me she also said something about my race which to me is racist my skincolor shouldn't matter.....she also told to never come back to the store after she was hostile towards me I would really like to speak with the store owner this is unexceptional

Tried to sell a single pair of brand new men's Adidas. They told me they couldn't accept them unless I put them in a hard container so they didn't mix them up with something else. They were literally standing behind the counter playing on their phones with nothing else to look through. One of the 3 doing nothing could have looked at them and tagged them quick. I haven't shopped here in years unless I'm desperate to find something because they're always rude. I'd rather go a few doors down to Clothes Mentor.

I’ve shopped here few and every time has been quite unpleasant. Today I went in to sell some clothes, like I do occasionally. I brought some in and decided to stay until they were done. While I was there, I watched the employees pick up my clothes and start laughing. I understand them not wanting to take all of my clothes, but that does not give them a reason to be rude and disrespectful. I will no longer be shopping her, nor selling my clothes. I am very disappointed with the way the staff treats there customers and the people who keep them in business

I’ve brought clothes here to sell a couple times, they took 40 items for $42 the time before last I went in. Which is fine, I’m happy to get paid but when I go in and they’re selling shein shirts for minimum $8 a piece (from what I’ve seen) I think it’s a little weird. I went to sell clothes a couple days ago and there was four girls talking behind the counter and seemed to be annoyed to be interrupted. I got a text not even 5 minutes later (I hadn’t even left the building yet) saying my offer is ready. They told me they couldn’t take anything I brought in because they’re “old”. It would be a valid reason if they were, although I’m not even sure if she even meant like they were out of style or just too worn. They hadn’t even unfolded anything I brought in besides the first few items on the top. I won’t be coming back in the future to shop or sell just because driving the 75 mile trip from where I live is not worth it.

The girls were friendly and went through all of my clothes in a timely manor and were really fair on what they gave me for my clothes!

The girl that checked my clothes was very passive aggressive and did not seem like she wanted to be there. I brought in 8 items and she offered me 40 $ for everything ( I had a L.L Bean winter coat that was worth over 150$ and 3 pairs of Zara jeans each 60$). This is a literal joke, never coming back again.

Do not go here. Do not donate your clothing here. Do not waste your time or energy these people are immature and they price gouge and the staff are like truly very mean people. Quite sad that a buisness can even be run like this. Not to mention the out of date clothing that is so expensive??? For why? Second hand clothing should not cost more than it did brand new, years ago.

Walked in with two giant bins of clothing to sell. Lady working the front desk was snobby and rude. 5 minutes later they were “done” looking through my clothes and didn’t take any. They hadn’t even looked through the bins, I could tell because everything was still folded. Told me everything was outdated or in bad condition, it was all new with tags.

Went for the first time with my friend who has been there before but in another state. I have them a bag of clothes shoes and perfume. I would have been willing to take anything for the clothes but my problem was the perfumes I tried to sell. They were all new used only once to test. Theres were 5 but they took 4-fine. However 3 of these perfumes cost $100+ each. Had I not checked the bin first, I would have given these away plus some of the clothes all for $15. I dont see how that makes sense. I was ready to take the $15 seeing only clothes but then fortunately thought to make sure the perfumes werent included in the total. the perfumes were hidden under the clothes. When I asked for them back, they were mad and just gave me everything back clothes included. Looking at the price of the stuff on the racks I had definitely expected more for what I brought. They claim to buy for a certain percentage and then resell a certain percentage but the math is not right here! That was my first and last time there. If youre looking to get some money for you stuff Id recommend selling it yourself online.

I am a BBW first off. Second, I went in looking for something to wear at a h s reunion. At one time, they did carry larger sizes. When I was at the store, I didn't see a section and asked a staff where I could find it. I was told, we don't carry larger sizes, so I can just leave.Another time, I went in looking at accessories. A store might not sell my size, but I still like jewelry, purses, and shoes. I went in, and found some cute jewelry and went up and tried to pay. As I was standing at the counter, I was ignored, and another lady who came up after me was helped. She was proceeding to be helped. While standing there, I saw they had a bottle of Bath and Body Works. Scent was enchanted orchid, and one cannot get in the store. The scent is discontinued. Not one hello from a staff person, or even an acknowledgement. Kept getting ignored. I threw the stuff on the counter and walked out.If anyone wants clothes, and great customer service, go to Clothes Mentor. Everyone is super nice and helpful. Unfortunately won't be going back to Plato's Closet.
