I really love shopping at Joann, but I don’t know what’s going on there right now because I went in today and there was stuff everywhere blocking the aisles and making it hard to shop. There were signs everywhere saying that they’re reducing their hours due to being short staffed, which is not surprising because the manager, Roxanne, is really rude and honestly mean to her employees.

We just left this Jo Anne's. It was 8: 30 as we walked out the door. When we were here we asked for someone to show us to the lace by the yard. She does, then within less than a minute, before we even had time to look, she got over the loudspeaker and announced that the cutting table was closed for the night. Unbelievable. The level of rude here is not to be believed. Luckily for me there's a lot of fabric stores around here so I never have to deal with that nonsense ever again.

Went into this store about 630 Saturday evening. The two gals working were making the absolute best of their situation and earned back customers. We had stopped shopping there for a while believing that their coupons and deals were discontinued. Not only did the staff inform us of the amazing deals, they were patient and helpful about getting them applied to our purchase. I didn't get your names but you're both rockstars!

I have been shopping at Joann for over 40 years. The Fargo, ND store has such poor customer service lately, that I have begun buying from Hobby Lobby, which has a limited selection, or at my local quilting store, which cost more. The last time I was there, I stood at the cutting counter, with a woman in front of me in line, for several minutes while a gentleman passed by to put away fabric. Twice. I finally went the front counter to ask for help. The same gentleman came to the cutting counter. I asked why he didn't stop and help while he was walking all around us. Immediately, he slammed down the scissors, called for a manager, and left. The assistant manager was rude and accused me of hurting the man's feelings. She refused to even listen to me and let me know if I complained, she would not cut my fabric. Since that day, I have not returned nor will I ever.
I am a service advisor for a large truck sales company. I know what good customer service is, and that wasn't it.

Be realistic.
This is a national chain.
The employees (including management) are people. I challenge you to find an establishment with more than 10 employees that can instill the entirety of company values and product into their staff.
Are the Winter 2024 hours frustrating? Absolutely!
Do the people who work there have ANY control? NO!
I talked to them and everyone is run ragged- there are NOT enough employees to keep the store open regular hours- no wonder they are exhausted.
There is an employee at the cutting counter who I am fairly certain hates when I come there- oh well. You can’t please everyone , and I have a right to want annoying cuts of fabrics.
Bottom line, I choose Joann’s because they have fabric and I want them to have my business over competition.
They have big sales, you can use coupons, and they have a great selection.
Products you love will be discontinued, company policy will be contrary to what you want. And just like many of YOU had a bad day when you wrote your scathing one star review- the employees are entitled to their bad days too!

I used to visit Joanne's for the most of my sewing and crafting needs, unfortunately their newer hours make it almost impossible for me to shop there. After two attempts to make it in time before the store closed failed, I've finally just switched to another local hobby store. I'd love to come back, but if the hours don't change, I don't think that will be possible.

One visit I went and cutting counter closed. Today, I got fabric, set it down by door as cart are in entry and did not want to take product out door. I turned around and fabric was gone. I went to counter and noticed they put in a bin. I went to grab it and they yelled at me that I cannot be there. I advised the man that I went to grab cart and it was gone. He said you set it down and walked out. I told him I was just grabbing a cart. Seriously they don’t understand that? It was less than 5 seconds! He was very rude and I will never shop there again. Go to Hobby Lobby people

I have no idea why the staff here is so rude. The last three times I've been there, I've got a terrible attitude from the employees in the fabric cutting area. Last time I was there, two employees were chatting about one having a headache and said almost nothing to me. The previous time, I moved aside to look at the end cap while waiting in line for fabric and the employee pushed my stuff on the floor and told me I couldn't set my stuff on the counter. I think its time for a new manager here.

Shopped at the Fargo, ND store, walked in and after a few minutes they announced the material cutting area was closing in 3 minutes so I grabbed my material and went to the table and stood. No one came so I walked down the aisle and I heard someone walk back and at the same time another customer came up to the table. He started cutting their fabric and I asked if I could leave mine there and grab something else. He said no, we are closing in one minute. Mined you the store is still open for another 1/2 hour. After I get my fabric, I walk to get some Velcro and realize I can buy by the inch so I walk back up and ask another lady if they could cut the one little piece I need. They have now been “closed” 3 minutes. She says no, that area is closed and if they did that for everyone they wouldn’t get done. Mind you there is one other person in the store. Rudest services I have seen. I left my fabric and went to Hobby Lobby where the service was good and both items cheaper. With companies closing due to online orders you would think they would want in person customers. I guess not.

Was greeted at the door by Jay who very rudely informed me “you have to be quick we are closing in three minutes” this at 6:57. I say I will and that I only need to grab a tee shirt. Not even ten steps later i am met with Roxanne. She also very rudely said “be quick, we are closing in one minute” I stated “it says 8 on your website” and she condescendingly replied “I am aware.” On my way out I spoke to Roxanne and told her that her and Jay could use some workplace attitude retraining. From the second I walked through the door I felt very uneasy looking for the item that I needed that I left before I could finish looking. She replied “I could say the same for you sweetheart” I replied “I am not on the clock, you are” I asked for their names and left. Absolutely garbage customer service. They could have approached this situation with even a hint of professionalism but this was not the case.

Update your hours. It says closes at 8pm. I wasted my time coming to be locked out at 7pm

Very poor customer service. My wife went there the night before to pick up some fabric and they were very rude to her. She ended up ordering it on-line. I went to pick it up at 7:00 and a gentleman said we are closed. I told him I was just there to pick up an on-line order but he continued to say we’re are closed! I showed him the site that said they were open till 8. Again he said we’re closed. I was very upset and will not be going back there especially when it was clear there were still people inside the store shopping.

Went into the store yesterday at 6:20 for fabric. Google says they close at 8:00pm. At 6:27 (because we walked in and heard their closing announcements) we hurried to find fabrics and stood by the cut counter. The associates were very rude when we asked to cut fabric for us and said they closed the cut counter early and had been making announcements since 6:00pm. Obviously we weren’t in the store, or we would have heard the announcements. My friend who has worked at many Jo-Ann’s locations was very unimpressed and we have let the District Manager be aware of the poor service that was given to us. This was a huge disappointment, and we won’t be back.

My fiancé, daughter, and I came in tonight about 6:05 when the door says they close at 6:30 and were going to just grab one roll of black fabric for our blankets but as soon as we walk in we have some grumpy, rude older guy behind the cutting counter saying he’s only helping the people who have tickets already when it’s 25 minutes before they close. Very bad experience and won’t be coming back
